Marvel Legends, Selects, Universe- Thread - Part 1

I'm all for them trying new things with the bases, and if executed right, Ultrons original concept could have been cool.

As far as the recent X-Men Selects, minus Colossus, that Danger Room set up just pisses me off. None of mine connect properly, so it makes Gambit and Cyclops look imcomplete.

I have that one, but I use the base for the Classic Thor just after that one. Ever notice the armor and weapons look ALOT like the Conan movie armor and weapons? lol

I wanted to start a small discussion, take it how you will, I don't believe things until I hear announcements but if anything this is something we could talk about.

On a few toy pages and sites, there's a few people claiming that they have heard rumors from various people that after 2013 Hasbro will stop making Marvel figures. Now that seems crazy considering their overall deal doesn't end until 2017 and that the Marvel Universe line has figures coming until the beginning of 2014.

Apparently the rumor starters work for a financial group that deals with Hasbro, and they claim that Hasbro isn't making any money off of the figures, except for mainly the movie lines, more importantly the Avenger line. If that's the case, then they need to learn how to distribute better, because all of their lines are lacking in stores.

Like I said, I personally don't believe it, until I get confirmation, but hell it's slow around here.....I was thinking we could spice it up a bit.

I agree, I don't think they would do something like that, even if they weren't making that much money of the other lines. Again, it's just stuff that's been brought up the last 2 months.

Hasbro is too much of a cash cow.

Agreed! I know Transformers is a huge line, but honestly, I don't see many flying off the shelves...well in my town at least. I'd compare it to the ASM line. Lots and Lots of peg warmers.

I know that as of right now, we really don't have any new announcements for the Marvel Universe line, just what they have showed us. And they could very well drag those out until the contract is up. I know you hate the line Spideyboy, but it sells really well, and I personally enjoy it.

But, it would be nice if they did end up cancelling MU, that they would be more focused on ML or some 6 inch line (whatever crazy idea they cook up)

you say that.. but i see far more MU figs on shelves than i do MLs... (aside from like 2 peg warmers)

Oh I won't dispute that at all!

Sadly, our new waves haven't hit for like 6 months, and everywhere I go it's basically the same figures; Gladiator, Spider-Woman, Namor, and Doctor Strange.And usually the pegs are FULL of them.

But once a new wave hits, then they are gone fast. I think this is the longest wait we've had between waves. Some stores are just now getting the 2 packs from last summer ie Gambit/Sinister, Wonder Man/Quicksilver, Thanos/Adam Warlock.

Really the most recent thing I've seen is the X-Factor team pack.....ugh don't even get me started on that.

Lol Hey now, I love the Legends too!

A guy on my facebook just got the complete 3rd wave from a friend. He posted pics and I they look pretty great.

Even though I don't need another Iron Man, the Modular Armor is pretty slick looking. He didn't have Blade, but the Punisher looks great, although I'm not sure why they gave him the all white gun.

I have a feeling that Deadpool won't be hard to find, he'll be like the Steve Rogers of this wave or Iron Man for that matter.

What about you?

Iron Man will be the peg warmer again.. the new fig is kinda lame imo compared to other armors

I hope that this wave isn't as hard to find the variants. I really want the Blade.

From the last wave, I still need Thunderball, BT Spidey, and Madame Masque. But I really don't know a lot of people who have seen Thunderball, aside from ordering online.

After Wave 3, it will be time to update your collection and poses!!

The variants were all easy to find for me. Some even sat on shelves fir a few days...

Only ones i have seen are masked daken , orange gr and big time spidey

I've seen masked Daken, but not orange Ghost Rider or BT Spidey.

I'm debating if I want the masked Daken or not, I like completing waves, but at the same time, I keep thinking it's just a mask. Same reason I got the clear shield Steve Rogers and not the regular as well.


Oh, I saw the Ultimate Venom Marvel Select last week in the store, he had an impressive 149 dollar price tag. He's not even worth the price!

I don't have the money or space to get every variant. So limit it to when they're a different character or notable costume .

FF spidey was easy to find. I have them all but the variants i mentioned (though i have solid shield cap vs clear)

I have 2 walmarts in my town, a target, and a meijers. all close by. But when one is dry.. they're all dry. and for a while. I had to order GR off Amazon for $20

At least MU collectors have a Gladiator. Can't believe he STILL hasn't been made in Legends line. Hopefully they'll use that new Sentry mould and get him in a wave soon.

as much as i want a Gladiator.... I don't really see a point unless we're going to get at least Deathbird, Lilandra, and Vulcan too... I guess he can go in a cosmic collection, but i'd prefer to have more than one Shiar Empire representation.
