Marvel Purposely Sabotaging X-Men Because Of FOX??

Marvel was nearing bankruptcy at that time, hindsight is 20/20, of course now everyone can say it was a dumb thing to do, but back then that deal was start of the company's comeback.

Pretty much. They had no idea how things would play out.

But isnt that deal a bit weird because if I'm not mistaken the general consensus is that Fox own the rights too all "mutants" however Marvel own the rights to Quick Silver, The Scarlett Witch and one two more which escape me right now?

I don't agree with those comments either, I never really thought the X-Men's stories were all that connected to the marvel universe. And Spider-Man's promotion, merchandising etc is due to his popularity, nothing to do with their relationship.

I'm not sure on who holds certain characters like Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Cable ect.

I think even if Marvel do own those characters they may not use them in films as Fox might try and sue them like they did with the Mutant X TV Show.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but why do I have a feeling FOX & Disney is negotiating a billion dollar deal to sell the rights to Marvel.

Since the Marvel/Disney merger we had rumblings of a new Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Deadpool and Wolverine films. There's be NO news on any of those films just delays.

There's minor talk about an X-Men First Class sequel, but like I said minor talk. I think FOX only did XMFC to show Disney that if they want to.

Marvel does little to help FOX promote these projects, so I can see FOX and Disney jockeying for a deal.

From Marvel/Disneys point of view they don't really need the X-Men franchise right now because they are doing just fine with the characters they do own the rights to.

Marvel/Disney still have a long list of characters they want to get on the big screen in the next few years like Doctor Stange and Black Panther as well as continuing the various Avengers characters franchises.

As a movie studio they can only release so many movies themselves without over flooding the market. It works a little in Marvel/Disneys favor in someways to have other studios continue producing films based on their characters.
