Born Again Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again General Discussion Thread

Must have missed the announcement that Margarita Levieva would be playing Heather Glenn in Born Again. Having just read the character's wiki, it could be an interesting direction to go.

I don't know if that part specifically was ever confirmed or stated- just that she'd be joining the cast. But probably more from the scooper side of things saying she'd be Heather Glenn.

Marvel Studios missed the a bigtime opportunity to set up Charlie Cox/Matt as their new RDJ. Central character of the MCU.

Him, Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland may be Marvel's last MVPs right now.

D'Onofrio lost a bunch of weight! He's significantly smaller than he was in ECHO.

Good, as long as he's healthy.

If they ever do Kingpin in Spider-Man 4, zod help that project given Marvel and Sony's current disarray, they should put him in a big fat suit.

Cumberbatch is great. He had a lot of potential. However he played a passive role in Doctor Strange 2. It seems like they didn't want to give him much to work with there, while the major development fell on Wanda and America.

He, hopefully, will get his moment to shine in the future.

He could have been the next central character of the MCU if they wanted it, but they didn't.

In Infinity War, it seemed like RDJ passed the mantle to him, and Evans to Boseman/T'Challa....... but things didn't work out that way.

Yeah, Doctor Strange could've taken center stage specially how this is the Multiverse Saga. It would've helped to have a central figure moving all the players towards something.

Make America Fisk Again.

I really hope they can redeem the character after his cartoony portrayal on Hawkeye and Echo. He was so terrifying and compelling on DD S1-3.

I didn't see him as cartoony on Echo at all. What about him there did you think was cartoony?

I don't think he was that cartoony in Echo, certainly not to the degree he was in Hawkeye, but his relationship with Maya, that came out of nowhere in these two shows, was very poorly written, as was the rest of the show, and it had an effect on Fisk's character as well. Also the fact that he was shot in the head and there was barely an explanation on how he was alive, didn't help take him that seriously either. Between that and him ripping out doors with his bare hands, he's certainly not as grounded as he was in the Netflix shows and therefore he's less menacing.

Must mean in Hawkeye where he was for sure cartoony. He was much more back to normal in Echo.

He was super lame on Echo. I just watched a cut of all his Echo scenes, as the show itself was unwatchable.

Vincent tried. But they wrote Kingpin like a big baby. Trying to get approval/validation from the woman who shot him and then throwing a tantrum when he got stood up by Echo.

And then crying in the last fight scene when Echo 'defeated' him and running away in emotional distress.

It seemed like the people who wrote him intentionally went in that direction. Makes me wonder how bad the original version of DD Born Again was going to be.

I'm glad they're shooting on location, I think the previous version of the show didn't have much on-location shooting.
