So hang in there just a few more days guys. :)

I hope they'll mention the rights to Daredevil and Black Widow

Black Widow was cancelled but it might not even be worth mentioned that they got the rights back until they have a project. Who knows. Daredevil came out in 2003 right, and Elektra in 2004 so Marvel would get those rights back likely in 2009 if inactivity continues. I think Marvel got the rights back early on the Hulk and in exchange Universal kept the distribution rights and that's why Bana is still under contract if Marvel chooses to use him. :)

AD, will they talk about the movies?

I am hoping that the rights will just simply revert back to Marvel and Marvel will pick it up and just make it. They already had a script and a director for it so it would be pretty easy to start up.

Hey Sava the Aug 10th conference is strictly about movies from Marvel.

thanks, i hope we hear more about TIH

Hopefully there will be a Punisher 2 update. I'm getting pissed waiting to hear something...anything on the production.

You won't because it's a Marvel Studios conference on the 10th only...unless they got the rights. Then we'll likely see Castle in a crossover first. :)

I don't. It might not happen right away but if Marvel gets the rights back not sure how quickly they'll do a Punisher film because the financing is for larger budget high profile summer event films only. Perhaps they can do that with the Punisher but my bet is they'd throw him in a Spiderman film, or make a TV series on HBO first. I'd cream if they made a Punisher film with a 65 million budget which is the lowest allowed under the financing.

I wouldn't call all of the characters getting films to be high profile :o

The movies will be 65-180 million. Not all of them are high profile characters but they'll be getting the high profile treatment. It's not a low budget house like LGF>

I don't see him playing a part in a Spider-Man movie which will still be owned by Sony/Columbia. I could see them making a tv series on SpikeTV or HBO like Blade.

If Marvel gets the rights back to The Punisher they wouldn't have to sell the rights to Sony in full to get a crossover. They could sell the rights on a per film basis. If they wanted to Sony could say we'd like the punisher to make an appearance in SM4 in a small role to be possibly expanded on later. This would not prevent Marvel from making their own punisher film or tv series either. Once we get the rights back the options are limitless and not bound by studios. I agree a hardcore tv series is the way to go.

Speaking of projects already with existing scripts, doesn't Cloak and Dagger have a script already too? Back in 2001 David Tischman was working on the script for Dimension Films, did he finish it before the project got canned?

Note:

-Iron Man stage space just secured in LA in the last few weeks. Next film probably not in LA (hulk)

-Marvels 165 million budget limit on slate does not include overhead, and other costs.

-Not planning on hiring anyone at senior levels to replace those that left.

-film profits from film facility are put into a blocked account can be used to finance other films in facility. Does not including producer fees and toy/merchandise revenue.

-I missed the whole beginning.

That's easily the worst decision they've made to date.

Well, what I'm hoping is that they're starting early on this project to make sure they get the script right. If they do it the RIGHT way (please, oh PLEASE!!!) they won't begin Avengers until the 6 principles' movies are done (Cap, IM, Thor, Fury, Antman, and Hulk2). I'm HOPING that's what's going on! That would put the film several years down the road with PLENTY of time to get the script right and find the right director.

What I'm AFRAID could be happening is they're gonna try to do an Avengers movie with 2nd-stringers that would be filmed sooner. If this is the case, a POX on marvel films and any who make the decisions about them! That would be the biggest travesty in film history IMO. They need to wait and get the backstory of the main characters, then do the team movie with the BIG characters already established so they can just go straight to the story and action. If done with the right cast and a director with vision, this would be the greatest comic film of all time. Nothing could touch it, not Watchmen, not even JLA! My 2 cents.

so Teen Avengers is the fifth DTV (page 34)!

thoughts?
