You know, when you think about the whole power combining thing, it's not that weird if you consider that in most dungeon crawlers (like MUA), you have the option to augment your weapons with abilities like poison and freeze, which is basically what we're doing if we're just adding electric shock damage to spidey's web moves.

I wouldn't mind it so much if say,Iceman could ice up Hulk's hands to look like spears or some ****. Which they already sort of have whenever you use a powerup. But if they're doing stuff on their own, then what's the point of even having other members?

I would say you probably hit the nail on the head there. It still seems kind of odd and out of place for this game, though.

just more proof that there are no new ideas, just new games.
still, I can't wait to see the first screenshots, i have a feeling they cant be that far away.

Man, I just played Marvel Ultimate Alliance after playing X-men Legends II and...seriously. WTF? This game is so friggin' boring in comparison. It's not even funny. :csad: Man do they have to return to old form for the sequel. If I see a vid and everybody's just crowding on a guy with melees again or every villain on the screen is chasing after one guy then screw it. I'll wait for it to hit bargain bins first.

YEah, both XML, and XML2 were such awesome, fun games, and made you feel like you were playing the X-Men, MUA needs to take a page from their book

And here I thought Legends was more fun than 2. Mainly I guess I loved the flashback missions....with classic Juggernaut attack, Sentinels in the city..etc.

Civil War huh? I guess it could be kind of interesting to see it play out. So would it leave off with Cap getting shot?? And would part 3 lead into Secret Invasion??

thats how I felt. I was playing both XML2 and MUA simluatenously a few weeks ago and XML2 was WAY better than MUA. I think everyone got caught up in the excitement of MuA when it first came out but going back to it, it really wasnt that good. They definetly need to step it up and go back to XML2 for inspiration

And it says on the MUA2 Wikipedia page that Sister Grimm of the Runaways will be playable.

That makes me happy... but at the same time... uh... what? The girl who's power is to only be able to use a power once? If they have a random generator for every ability in the game (enemies included) for her, that could be kind of fun... but that still wouldn't capture her power from the books.

A very odd choice, but I'll be playing her anyway. If they add another Runaway or New Avenger, they'll have me sold, despite lack of accuracy in character powers.

It would be pretty funny if Sister Grimm's moves pretty much cycled through every other character's in the game.

Eh. Setting it during Civil War is intriguing. But the first one I grew bored with as all the heroes basically had the same level of strength with few abilities to differnitate themselves in narrow corridors you crawled through. Cool animations and a decent video game story with good voice acting, but it just got tired and too hard IMO. Fun with four people, but any less and it was a chore.

But I'll keep an eye on this.

I can hack the Wikipedia page to say that Squierrel Girl is playable. Wikipedia is the last place people should go to for news

Yeah, of all the Runaways, Nico seems the least likely choice for MUA. I would put Karolina Dean, Victor or Molly in...I think it would be kind of cool to have her where she fell asleep after using her powers for a while.

SG just got taken off the list on Wikipedia.

Ah, I figured it would be sooner than later. Still, a Runaway or two would be pretty cool, but with only 20-something characters, there are lots of heroes that deserve one of the spots before them.

One of the inherent difficulties in a game with the breadth of MUA was trying to get all the characters to fit and make sense in the story. For example, I hardly played with Blade at all (even though he's a pretty decent character) simply because it didn't make sense to me - Blade fighting Galactus, or Blade going to Asgard? Which brings me to the locations in the game - it felt like they wanted to take every major place in the Marvel Universe and cram it all together.

XML I and II had a great "feel" to them - XML I was definitely a classic 1960s X-Men title (though with a few new characters) and XML II was the Age of Apocalypse. MUA was just an amalgamation of everything popular in Marvel. If they keep to a certain storyline, I think the sequel would be better (from a storyline and "feel" point of view).

Also, they could do a lot with downloadable content. Being able to download new characters, costumes, items, simulator missions, etc. would be pretty cool.

thats one of hte biggest problems I had with the game. I felt it was too big in scope and they tried to do too much and it lacked focus bc of it. I felt they covered too much and wish they hadnt tried to cram so much into the game

Yeah, MUA was all flash, no substance, and unfortunately the flash was lackluster too.

Yea, if you actually break the game down, it was downright bad. The visuals sucked, the story was lame, the voice acting was dreadful, the heros powers were terrible, yet it was received as a solid game. I think it was just the fact that you had a huge roster of some of Marvels finest to choose from. I mean, when my buddy and i would play it, we wouldnt really pay much attention to anything, wed just pick our fav characters and just start tearing s**t up.

I hated that characters had nothing to do in the plot. Only Nick Fury got some significant moments.

As for the Blade, I hope that you get fight vampires in MUA2. They would be perfect villains. Robots are starting to bug me.

I know exactly what you mean. They just recycled robots, tossed a new skin on em and called it new. WTF? I'm one doombot away from destroying my game haha

I dunno. I enjoy my team. I hope they are all in part 2

1. Black Panther (Ceremonial)
2. Captain America (WW2)
3. Deadpool (Ultimate)
4. Nick Fury (Ultimate)
