It wouldn't even have to really be that big or be free roaming. Just arenas large enough so you could swing, fly or jump a couple blocks.

Just imagine a Ultimate Alliance game like this.

I want a game where the characters would be finally be true to themselves. Spider-Man should play like he did in SM2-3, Hulk should play like Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Iron should play like in the upcoming 2nd game, etc. Now throw them into a giant world in the scale of GTA and watch the awesomeness never end. But a developing game like that would probably be way too costly.
most likely would never happen bc of the drastic mechanics between each character. They have to create an environment that is balanced to accomadate fliers like Iron Man, a wallcrawler/swinger like Spidey and a destructive force like Hulk among the various other types of characters. Not gonna happen when you have 4 player game confined to one screen. You are going to have to play a Spidey , Iron man, Hulk, etc.... game to get a more accurate feel

It will happen some day, I can wait. I will still be playing games when I'm 60.

Wheres tht from?

Just a little promotional cartoon Marvel made during the buildup to Iron Man and the Hulk's movies.

remember that sandbox style 3d Marvel fighting game EA was working on?
that looked SO sweet
sort of like that video + Rise of the Imperfects - the actual Imperfects / EA
I wish someone else woudl pick up that property

I'm still confused as to why EA decided they needed extra characters besides the Marvel ones for Rise of the Imperfects. :huh:

I think EA wanted to see if any of the new characters would catch on....maybe start an Imperfects franchise

They must have had some pretty strong weed. Each of those Imperfects should've been replaced by an actual Marvel character, since they were mostly nothing but copycat characters anyway.

Brigade = War Machine
Hazmat = Carnage
Solara = Firestar
Wink = Nightcrawler
Johnny Ohm = Electro
Fault Zone = Avalanche
Niles Van Roekel = Dr. Doom

I think Paragon was the only original character of the bunch and I also happened to like her. Wink too.

poorly concieved counterparts
that part is key
man I hated that game
it was a good setup
but such a terrible execution
and the Imperfects jsut enraged me to no end
LAME

Hmm, I didn't know they matched up so closely to Marvel characters. I never played Rise of the Imperfects. I was on the fence, and when it came out pretty much all the reviews made it sound like it sucked.

it did
you didn't miss anything
the XML2 danger room versus mode was much more fun
I jsu thope MUA2 gets that DLC versus mode everyone seems to want
I've got my fingers, toes, eyes and shoelaces crossed for that one

It actually is fun once you get used to the controls. I love to play as Iron Man. Tackling a character in the air and slamming him into the ground, being able to throw cars and other objects around, blasting my opponent from across the map, there was some badass comic book action going on.

"What a great day, for kicking ass." :im:

Marvel:ROTI=Worst marvel fighting game of all time.

yeah, it was definitely fun
and a good marvel fighting game is hard to find
(although I actually really did like X-Men:Next Dimension)
but still
they could have/should have just stuck with Marvel characters
and that also applies to Nanite Nick Fury in MUA2 ;)

It coulda been good. I didn't mind the new characters (Honestly, a lot of the people we enjoy across the comic industry seems to be a cheap remake of another we already like), but the story just sucked.

yeah, it did indeed
and it was such a great feeling getting ot use all the heroes in those cool environments
and the Imperfects jst fell very short
the whole time I was thinking "I come up with better character ideas than THIS!"
and that's never a good thought to have about the characters in a agme you're tyring to enjoy

Im sorry, but watching that MVTI video I just got really bored, kinda like in the game itself. The best bit about was Iron Man's quote at thye beginning

I wonder who the next character reveal will be. I hope it's Magneto or Psylocke.

I love X-men Next Dimension. It was a pretty solid fighter. I repurchased it last year from Ebay and still had fun with it. My main complaint were those long loading times but the actual gameplay was fun
