One of the first games I purchased back when I got a Ps2.

Very fun game.

If any one hates this game, well they can just get the hell out. This game is fantastic.

Heres to hoping for a MvC3.....

Here's hoping that any future Capcom fighting game won't be flooded with X-Men characters. MvC2 had too many!

I dont care what its flooded with. As long as it has Marvel and Capcom characters, im set.

Loved everything but the music! It's the only ps2 game I still have and occasionally play.

This is what I play MVC2 on.

Did you pay for that yourself? How much was it?

Oh and MvC2 was LIFE back in high school. Everyone loved that game. We would have tournaments and everything. I played through the game countless times from scratch and it really helped shape and define the peak of 2D arcade gaming.

I was really tempted to shell out $70 recently for a copy of the PS2 version.

I rescued it from the side of the road, so it was free. It was an old Bagman cab that had been converted 1,000,000 times until it was a hideous Ajax machine, which I rescued it from the side of the street (it was going to go to the dump). I stripped it down, re-painted it and put a computer inside running MAME, Daphne, ePSXe, and NullDC (which is a very nice Dreamcast emulator). All in all the project probably cost me about $600-800, but it would have been cheaper if the cab had more salvageable parts inside (also the computer ran up a bit of a bill). I've seen people who can pull off projects like this for $200 or less depending on what condition the cabinet is in (and how much they're willing to spend on the PC inside).

Damn I miss playing this game, and it was so hard to find when I bought it.

I remember before class in college, someone would bring out a PS2 and we'd all start playing?

BTW TNC9852002: $70 is actually a steal for MVC2 these days. Usually on eBay it goes for at least $90, and often more if it's in good condition.

I got this when it first came out on the Dreamcast it was great.

One of the greatest fighters ever
Evident that you can't find it anywhere on any of it's too few platforms

Glad to hear everyone loves this game. how much did you pay for this? i paid $80 for mine and it was in very very good condition

You cant find it anymore bc Capcom lost the Marvel liscense soon after the game was released on Xbox/PS2. Bc of that only a few copies were ever developed.

I've heard that, but how in hell, either company uses it's lic for other branches of Capcom fighters and the Marvel properties..just not together. If they made a 3 I'd sell a million units out the gate.

Capcom had a deal with Marvel which they used to create 2d fighters for several years. That liscense ran out very soon after MvC2 came out on the PS2/Xbox and bc of that, they had to stop producing the game. They cant even release it on XBLA or PSN bc they simply do not have the rights to those characters and that game anymore. Since then, Marvel has outsourced its liscense to several different companies for several different characters and thats what made it such a mess for Capcom. They've wanted to create a new MvC game but they couldnt bc of this. Theres been talks on both sides and its a matter of timing (basically when Capcom is able to secure a new liscense deal after the others expire with the other companies). For now, Capcom is creating Tatsunoko vs Capcom which if successful, should provide a base for a new Marvel game

Love this game. Just got done playing it actually.

I still have the original copy I bought for my Xbox all those years ago. I don't know what I'd do if it ever got damaged.:csad:

Yup. For some reason some ****** at Marvel thought it'd be a great idea to sell the liscense to EA instead of letting Capcom renew it, so we ended up with that POS abomination "Marvel Nemesis," which on paper was "Marvel vs. EA." It was a total crapfest that never should have existed, and we should instead have gotten MVC3. Apparently no-one at EA got the memo that MVC's popularity was just as much because of Capcom as it was the Marvel liscense-- and arguably more.
