The Defenders Marvel Working With Netflix and ABC on Additional Series.

It's not a huge leap to toss out those properties as potential Netflix candidates. Moon Knight's been rumored forever.

Ghost Rider and Blade are pretty much dead as movie properties at this point. Disney's not going to produce films like the original Blade movies anymore either.

We'll see. The TV slate seems pretty busy at the moment. We know we're getting Punisher. It wouldn't surprise me if those other shows got made. But to claim there are sources that those shows are happening it's not a huge leap.

Just like those articles saying sources said Iron Fist TV show is dying and going to get replaced with something else.

I'd keep Blade and Ghost Rider available for the 2019 movie sequel "Dr. Strange: Midnight Sons". Moon Knight seems inevitable for Netflix.

I'd be happy to see a Moon Knight series but Blade and Ghost Rider can stay away from Netflix. Not a fan of either, especially after already having films with both characters. Let's bring in some characters who haven't had much exposure or some female lead shows.

I'd like Spider-Woman on Netflix. It could be in the style of Angel, which evokes the feel of Spider-Woman's early issues with a focus on the supernatural and being set in LA, and also the later issues with a focus on her being a PI. No spy stuff, as we've had enough of that with AOS. Plus I never liked that angle for Spider-Woman.

While the "supernatural" angle is different, that sort of show has kind of been filled by Jessica Jones. Though I'd love to see her in a show or have her own. Give me Elektra, Spider-Woman, She-Hulk (harder to do due to the green giant thing), or any interesting female driven show over Ghost Rider.

I put it down to "carnival barker guessing", here. Claim you've got a scoop, and just *coincidentally* its three of the most commonly discussed and desired characters, two of which are readily doable by Netflix. If you were to want to invent a scoop to gain attention and hits, this would be what you'd do.

Its the inclusion of Ghost Rider that makes me call BS. Yes, he's got a ton of fan interest, but that isn't going to change the budget realities that make it *highly* unlikely he could be done on a Netflix budget, at least not without laughably bad SFX.

Yeah these shows don't have a big enough budget to do Ghost Rider I think.

I mean they barely even showed Hive on Agents of SHIELD.

I'd rather that Spider-Woman show up on Agents of SHIELD (provided that Marvel can use Spider-Man characters elsewhere in the MCU).

I'd rather Elektra get her own series if we're talking Netflix stuff. Or if Marvel can get her production rights back from Sony, a Silver Sable show would be nice.

She-Hulk would be great for a sitcom on ABC so long as they stick to body paint and not CGI. I'm betting that that's the second sitcom at ABC considering that that only alternative is Skrull Kill Krew and nobody cares about Skrull Kill Krew compared to She-Hulk.

.

Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) isn't a Spider-Man character. The only thing Sony could've probably sued for if they had used her before the deal was the actual superhero name. They could probably have said it was attempting to cache in on the IP to which they had rights. But now I don't see how they could claim that or have any say at all in how Marvel uses Jessica.

Totally agree with this. I would love shows with Marvel characters that have their footing in the supernatural, but, while I understand that both Blade and Ghost Rider have name recognition that could be appealing from a marketable sense, I think that it would be a better idea to take this opportunity to let other characters like Morbius, Damian Hellstorm, Elsa Bloodstone, Sleepwalker, and Werewolf by Night get their series first. Maybe Blade and Ghost Rider can have their presence be teased in some of these shows for their future series(maybe even Man-Thing). I could see characters like Manphibian, Lilith, Dracula, and Simon Garth/Zobbie making potential appearances.

Both Spider-Woman and Moon Knight could be a bit like this, with also another foot on the urban crime stuff.

There are quite a few characters who could get their own show I'd say. I'm curious to see which ones we'll get in the future.

I think you're talking about Elsa Bloodstone (although Hellcat is a redhead as well).

An Elsa Bloodstone show would be pretty cool. I'd watch it.

The only time it could have possibly worked is in the aftermath of Civil War, and having Clint be on the run and laying low away from his family. But it'd be too late to do that now, so there wouldn't really be an opportunity

Can someone name all those characters above? There's a few of them I don't recognize.

Daughters of The Dragon (Collen Wing & Misty Knight)
Hellcat
Elektra
Moon Knight
Shang Chi
White Tiger
Spider-Woman
Blade
Ghost Rider
Nighthawk
Night Thrasher
Hakweye
Not too sure who the purple guy is. I'm guessing Prowler? Looks like Prowler to me but I may be wrong.
Elsa Bloodstone
Silver Sable
Echo

Trish Walker (Hellcat) has taken Carol Danvers place as Jessica Jones BFF. They sowed seeds of her possibly becoming Hellcat in that show. I think if she becomes Hellcat it will probably be in Jessica Jones. I don't think she really needs her own separate show.

White Tiger could also appear in Jessica Jones as she was already name dropped in the first season.

New Warriors is rumored to be in development so Night Thrasher will probably appear in that show.

Echo could appear in a future season of Daredevil.

Spider-Woman would probably be better off joining Agents of Shield. The PI stuff is already kind of covered by Jessica Jones.

Nighthawk could be introduced in the next season of Luke Cage.

I'm not sure there is much demand for a Silver Sable solo movie or Tv series.
I'd keep Blade and Ghost Rider available for the 2019 movie sequel "Dr. Strange: Midnight Sons".

Elsa Bloodstone would fit in movie a line up of the Midnight Sons as well.

Based on the AoS midseason finale, I'd say that Ghost Rider is highly likely now. They practically confirmed that the series is going to be a Blaze and Reyes team-up show.

How do you even figure that?

At best, they left the option open. They certainly confirmed nothing.

I feel like it confirms a Ghost Rider series the same way Mockingbird's exit confirmed Marvel's Most Wanted. It depends on if ABC wants to pick up the series or not. Which, considering the budget on the flaming skull as a the lead character, is probably a 50/50 chance. I have a feeling if a Ghost Rider show is not green lit he'll be back next season.
