Marvel's Black & Minority Characters: Roundtable Discussion

Was anybody disturbed by Ultimate Nick Fury's actions in the recent Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine issue? Lordy, he's almost as bad as Wildstorm's Henry Bendix. What is Marvel doing with that character?

Ah Henry Bendix. You know, sometimes, I think Bendix might have been loosely based off of Bendis. Both Bald, both have created horrible *****e bag versions of established characters. Both have had eyes on reshaping an entire universe in their image. It's almost uncanny. Ellis truly is a futurist.

I like Ultimate Nick Fury. Granted, I haven't read an Ultimate title since Ultimates 2 (I choose to forget what little of Ultimates 3 I've read).

616 Steve Rogers isn't a total bastard (we're just stating random facts for no reason, right?).

I still like Ultimate Nick Fury.

What did he do? I don't read anything Ultimate.

Let's start with "You think this letter on my forehead stands for 'France'?!" and go from there.

Does anyone know if there is any talks of the Black Panther movie yet? also Corp what is your avvy

When Ultima Wolverine failed to kill Ultima Hulk, that fascist son of a ***** chopped up Ultima Wolverine's body into pieces. Turns out that Wolverine can still live from that, even if his head was decapitated. Ultima Fury then had them separated into different floors at the Triskelion while he interogated Wolverine's head.

Currently, the feet of Rose, one of six sisters you play as in a phenomenal game called The Path. Before that, it was Venorpion trying to eat Hercules' head. I'm not sure which one you're asking about because I only changed it a little while ago.

See, that goes out of super-badass healing factor territory and into living cartoon character territory. Stuff like that is better suited to Deadpool than Wolverine. :o

I don't know. I remember Alpha Flight's enemy, Deadly Ernest, could survive multiple hackings. It wasn't funny back then. Lobo - now that's a great comic to make it funny!

I'd take Luke Cage over Black Panther...just my preference

I say - is it too much to ask for both?

Thanks for reminding me why I don't read it.

Wow, I've missed alot....Hydra? How?!
And about Ultimate Nick Fury, I liked him in his first appearance in Ult X-men, but instead of being a hardass who did tough and often unpopular things with some people, he quickly (in my opinion) became a jerk, nay good sir a royal kingly *****e. And I don't know, I love Sam Jackson, I really do, but to be honest, I preferred Ult Nick Fury's original look, back when he had hair. I always liked the salt and pepper/ graying temples style 616 had. (I hope to have that when I'm an older fella, beats being bald eh? ;) ) Any one else prefer the original Ult Nick Fury's look?

Yeah I remember when he could actually be knocked unconscious, and it took time for him to heal...

The good old days. Back when stuff like Claremont's Hellfire Club sequence was still novel instead of something Wolverine tops every other issue, catapulting himself further into absurdity.

Yeah, make the black version an even bigger ass-hole than his 616 version. Of course.

In fairness, virtually everyone in the Ultimate universe is a bigger a**hole than their 616 version.

Except for Cyclops, whose 616 counterpart is setting a new standard in A-holery.
