You should consider it. Skyrim looks spectacular.

never cared for it....tried playing Elder Scrolls 2 or 3 once, got frustrated when I thought I bought a bowl and the shop owner attacked me for stealing it

So one bad experience turned you off from an old that has had either one or two games after it improve upon everything?

Can't wait to have Kaidan back for my Female shep, and Liara back for my main shep. Somewhere I read Captain Anderson is a part of the squad, maybe only on Earth? and I wonder if Sanders is the guy from the Trailer?

Sarcasm, mother****ers! Do you speak it!?

I do not think that having ladders in a game qualifies it for "game of the year".

Though I agree, it's between this and Skyrim. If ME3 does come out this year. I have my doubts.

Between ME3, Skyrim and Uncharted 3, I don't know which I would choose as "Game of the Year".

Did Tali's loyalty mission today and she mentioned some of the Quarian brass were putting her name forward as her father's replacement on the admiralty board. I wonder if ME3 will have her as one of the high ranking muckety mucks in the flotilla?

>.< I didn't even think about that. I renegaded my way through those assclowns and got her exonerated.

When I played threw with my femShep, I didn't have enough points. So I agreed to hide the information of her father's guilt from the council and she got exiled. :csad:

Between ME3, Skyrim and Uncharted 3, I don't know which I would choose as "Game of the Year".

Personally, I take Uncharted 3 out of the running because based on what I've seen so far, it just looks like more Uncharted. Which is a great thing, I love Uncharted and I'll gladly take more of it. But the competition is way too hot this year for "just" another Uncharted to win again.

And when I say "the competition is hot" I don't just mean "yo, there are a lot of good games this year", I mean there are several sequels coming out, Mass Effect 3* and Skyrim being two of them, that at least appear as though the developers are taking it to a whole new level with a lot of changes, additions, and improvements being implemented. They're not just doing the same thing again with a different setting or story.

And that doesn't even take totally new games like L.A. Noire into account.

I'm not bagging on Uncharted. Not at all. For all I know, Uncharted 3 could bring a lot to the table that I'm unaware of at the moment. But for now, my sense is that it's going to be a very good, but very "paint by numbers" kind of sequel. And if anything, the fact that I think Uncharted might not be "good enough" for GOTY is very telling of just what an embarrassment of riches this year is for gamers.

*Though as I said before, I doubt ME3 will make it out this year.

No one does story telling, cinematics and voice work like Uncharted. It'll take GOTY, again.

It truly is going to be an awesome year for gamers.

Speaking of voice work and cinematics, I think with game of the year, we're all forgetting about one huge darkhorse: Rockstar's L.A. Noire.

*cough* Gears of War 3. :awesome:

*waits for people to say that type of game shouldn't be GOTY*

These are pretty much my feelings.

They said that he was just a placeholder. I don't think he will be in the squad but that's just me.

This is pretty much what I'm thinking as well, although I do believe we'll see ME3 this year. ME3 and Skyrim will be the TOP contenders for GotY... I'll get Uncharted and I'll enjoy Uncharted but I have a feeling that it's going to be like it's prequels.

Very good.. but nothing new.

You guys should check out the Uncharted 3 thread. Some of the info that's been released recently, they are raising the bar a lot. They even said with the tech they had for UC 2 they could have easily churned out another game using all the same tech, but consciously wanted to push things even further. All in all, it looks to have about the same level of development as ME 3 does over 2. They both had solid formulas, but they're getting pushed further and refined for a 3rd one.

Hey man, i'm with you. I LOVE the Gears franchise, and I never understood how much flack those games seem to get on the Hype.

To be fair... I'm trying to stay away from any and all Uncharted info. So I hope I'm blown away.

In regards to Gears...

I hated the first, thought the 2nd was better but nothing to write home about... So, I'll probably wait for the 3rd to drop to 20 or so before picking it up. Comparing those games to the likes of Uncharted, Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls... is something you just can't do.

All in my opinion of course...

I'm sorry, but I don't see Gears of War 3 even being the best shooter of this year (My prediction is BF3 at least until I hear something about MW3). I like the series, and think they are great games, but Gears 2 was pretty disappointing to me outside of Horde mode.

Maybe I should create a separate thread for what game will be the best game of the year.

I'm not saying it will be game of the year, just that it gets very little love on the hype for some reason... The same Hype that goes crazy over every single MUA game. Topsy turvy fanboys.

Hmmm, seems like the Gear games are generally pretty liked here in my experience.

Really? Every thread i've been in where it's mentioned (except the gears thread) theres always a majority who don't like it.
