Mass Effect 3

I don't think that's true. People like Conrad or Gianna showing up are definitely going to be in 3 despite their absence in the ME2 PS3 version which is essentially the same version players without an import were already getting on the Xbox and PC. Those characters aren't going to be mission critical or anything obviously but their exclusion would lose them more than they would gain.

Chances are if an event contingent on a choice from ME1 wasn't included in the PS3 version, it's because Bioware wasn't planning on continuing it in ME3 in the first place.
Yes, they're going to start throwing out the baby with the bathwater now, all of a sudden, as opposed to before they'd put all the work in in the first place.

Like Upset Spideyboy has been writing - the PS3 Mass Effect 2 is no different than what 360 and PC owners of Mass Effect 2 have. The PS3 owner simply has no import with small choices.

BioWare could easily provide some "import" world-states to choose from, a la DA2. They probably should have done that for the PS3 ME2 instead of the comic, but oh well.

More Details Revealed by Spanish Magazine

Translated by GAF user Lakitu

-The reason Cerberus is put against us is explained at the beginning of the adventure.

-Cerberus troops include: Mechas, Assault units, Shock troops – ninja-style.

-Reapers: They have different sizes, ranging from 500-600 meters of the smaller ships to the 2km large Herald.

-New skills for Shepard: Rolling, jumping small holes in the ground. Greater variety of melee attacks. The article specifically mentions “a new class: Heavy Melee”.

-New skills: Engineer can build turrets.

-Customizable weapons: Guns, sight – five variants in each section.

-More items to “loot.”

-Space Battles? Perhaps, but unconfirmed.

-Scenarios: Larger. We will see people walking, ships fighting, architecture in greater detail. Searching for the photorealism of sites using new lighting techniques on the stage.

-Enemies: They now take dynamic damage. The Cerberus mechas, for example, requires that we shoot a weak point, the glass cockpit, in order to overcome them. In other enemies we can cut off the arms, break the head or break various pieces of their armor.

-Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game’s speed is improved by 10 to 15 percent.

-Exploration: We won’t drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them. This does not mean that there are no vehicles, but they can’t reveal more now. There is a new scanning system.

SPOILER!!

Locations to visit: New York, London, a moon of ¿Koriana? (maybe they mean Quarian or Krogan) world, a salarian world and Mars, among others. The development of each environment takes about six months.

Some of the new details sounds amazing.

That was one of my favorite features in DA 2. It's useful even for people who have played the first game but maybe didn't get a chance to try out every possible permutation available to them. And it's one of those things that once you include it, its absence in similar games starts to become really noticeable.

See, the main reason why I went back to the 360 is I played and beat 2 with my ME1 import on the 360. I really wanted my PS3 to be my "single player" machine but to be honest, I just missed the little stuff here in there that I didn't have in the PS3 version based on even the smallest choices I made in the first one.

It may seem pointless to some, but those little things just made the ME world seem so much more connected.

When I saw Gianna Parasini on Illium I knew Shep was gonna get that beer she owed him hahahha, it was awesome. Then there's Fist still bitter at the club in Omega and then Conrad in cosplay... lmao, I can't imagine ME2 without those little things.

EXACTLY!

Setting around and having a beer with Parasini may not be missed by some, but having experienced that originally... It just felt "lack luster" to not have it, lol.

Yeah, but my dude was too noble to kill him in cold blood on the ass-end of some jungle planet. The universe had to exercise its own justice by having Zaeed sacrifice his life to buy the "good" characters' safety. And in this scenario, the universe was me and a bunch of online guides and FAQs that let me plan it out.

I felt a little bit like a serial killer, to be honest, but I knew my cause was just and I'll never let anyone tell me otherwise! :cmad:
lol I go quiet on this forum for a bit and what do i find when i get back ? Dexter morgan has some how possessed corp. hmmm and for some reason i'm finding kinda cool.

lol any way seeing I was playing paragon my self and I had imported the latter which was very smart of me I managed to convince him to save the people in the mission and though vido had gotten away i figured I'll help the z man get his revenge later be it Dlc or in ME3 which is more likely now

and i had enough paragon points to convince him of that, and that theres no need to sacrifice others for his vengence. it'll give me a mission to hunt down vido in ME3 any ways. so I'm good.

What about the Rachni thing? I can't see that plot point being skipped out in ME3. Considering the message the Queen gave you in ME2.

So did the PS3 players of ME2 get that message? Or what? How will the Rachni be implemented into the PS3 versions?

the same way it will be in the 360 version. All major plot points are in both versions. I think the only 2 things that dont carry over are Conrad and Gianna but those are minor sidequests

With the free comic PS3 users can save the Rachni thus getting the message, otherwise no its like a regular new game w/o an import meaning they're dead.

I have a feeling the rachni are going to come to your aid against the Reapers in ME 3 if you saved them. I'd say we might even see a krogan/rachni conflict that Shep has to solve first, but I suspect the krogans will have a major conflict already with the salarians over the genophage cure.

See, based on the message I think it's obvious they'll show up in ME3.

This sounds fanatstic. I got the new Game Informer 2 or 3 days ago and the screens look great!

Q&A For "Hardcore" Fans

GI: Was the fact that Harbinger is a Reaper supposed to be a surprise at the end of ME2? It was presented like a reveal, but players (and Shepard) would have to be pretty dense to not have it figured out.
Walters: No, it wasn't meant to be a surprise, but it was important that we make the connection clearly at the end of the game. The goal was to reveal just how close the Reapers were to returning to our Galaxy, and to foreshadow the fate of humanity if Shepard failed to stop them.

On the original cover of Mass Effect: Revelation, both of Saren’s arms appear normal. However, in the first game, one of them is clearly made from Geth/Reaper technology. Did this aspect of his design change during development?
Good eye! It is common for most of our characters, especially those as important as Saren, to go through many revisions throughout the course of the game. And it's not just the visual concept – the voice, background, and even the gender of our characters can change (Saren got off lucky with just an arm change!). However, in this case, the difference is because we’re seeing Saren before he was indoctrinated and working with Sovereign (the time period for Revelation was about 18 years prior to the events of Mass Effect).

Why do most of the Reapers we’ve seen so far have similar insect-like appearances? The human Reaper looked different, but otherwise it seems like the Reapers mainly build themselves out of bugs. Is that correct?
The exterior of the Reapers does follow a similar pattern, an efficient design for the purpose they were created for. However each Reaper is created from a unique species, and as we saw at the end of Mass Effect 2, the core of each Reaper is designed in the likeness of that species.

In ME 2, Conrad Verner seems to the think that Shepard held a gun to his face, even if players chose the paragon option in ME 1. Was this just a glitch, or is there some story reason behind this?
Well, it may have been a glitch, or maybe Conrad was just having an off day (even more off than usual). Stay tuned in Mass Effect 3 to see how Verner deals with this embarrassing misstep with Shepard.

Where is the Illusive Man physically located during the course of Mass Effect 2? What’s going on with that colorful cosmic display outside his window?
The colorful cosmic display is a clue to the location of the Illusive Man, which I can't reveal. Not yet.

Some Asari have eyebrows. Some don’t. Are they born with or without? Or does it vary based on the individual?
Actually, they aren’t eyebrows at all. They are unique color patterns that vary for every Asari. We, being humans, naturally associate those particular markings with eyebrows, but the Asari don’t think of them in that way at all.

Legion couldn’t fully answer Shepard’s question about the reason it chose Shepard’s armor to repair itself. Can you give us any insight?
Legion is a complex organism. And like many of us evolved organics, he is not always certain about why he does the things he does. But I think it's safe to assume that Legion saw in Shepard a sort of kindred spirit. Legion is unique among his kind, as is Shepard, and he no doubt inferred a sort of bond with this unique human individual. And… there was a hole.

Some fans were disappointed by Liara’s apparent lack of enthusiasm when re-encountering Shepard in ME 2, especially given the lengths she went to in the Redemption comic. From a story perspective, is there an explanation for why she isn’t happier to see the Commander?
Liara was happy to see Shepard. But she was confused about his return from the brink of death and his role with Cerberus. Add to that, she was dealing with the loss of Feron, and maybe struggling with her feelings for the roguish Drell who had sacrificed himself for her. Of course, as we saw in The Lair of the Shadow Broker, once that situation was put to rights, her feelings for Shepard were once again made clear.

Some fans have speculated that Aethyta (the Asari Matriarch behind the bar at Eternity) is Liara’s “father.” Is there any truth to that? Will we find out more on that topic in Mass Effect 3?
The writers are keenly aware of the speculation and there are indeed discussions about how this plot line will resolve in Mass Effect 3. And that’s all I can say about that.

Do Reapers have individual personalities?
That's right up there with "Do Reapers have a soul?" or "Are they truly alive"? All great questions, but all questions that we are waiting to answer in Mass Effect 3.

apologies if this has already been posted

Thanks for the Q&A Soapy. I didn't know that the cosmic display is a clue to the Illusive Man's location.

I didn't know the Bar Tender could possibly be Liara's ..um.. "father." Seriously... What made people think that? Because I must have totally missed it.
