Mass Effect 3

One thing that would be a nice addition to the series it's the conversation between the squad members, just like Dragon Age. Don't like the see something, click and get a response from someone feature.

Just saw the trailer. Sa-weeeet!

I'm not sure guesses about squad members are useful. As *any* amount of time could have passed (it's obvious that reapers are slower than mass relays, since they use them to travel, just as humans are slower than cars), so who knows what's happened to the crew. It wasn't likely that any crew would leave at the end of ME1, but things happen between games. What I'd like is a solid mix 33% ME1, 33% ME2, and 33% new squad members. I really hated not being able to interact with my love interest regularly as Shepard, and so I hope they bring Ashley/Kaiden back, or at least allow you to visit them at some location.

The Trailer seems to explicitly tell me that the storyline is assembling a team to take down the reapers. This means, in short, that new characters will be a big part of the formula, seeing as how few of the known squadmates have much to contribute, based on what we know now. Perhaps, like Wrex, they've risen to places of influence and can bring armies, but beyond that... "I need to take down the Reapers, lets go find Thane..." Also, because its a video game meant to work as a starting point, you can count on having no squadmates on the tutorial level, at least.

Another fun thing could be *temporary* or *local* squadmates that are only available on given planets. That could be cool.

So I haven't seen much talk of multiplayer on here since the trailer. Is that because people don't believe that's what they have planned or because people have accepted it and moved on?

I assumed it was a pipe dream. Was there any indication that multiplayer was in?

Well there's the trailer and Joystiq says an inside source that has confirmed it to them.

I'm 100% uninterested in multiplayer. The thought of it never even crossed my mind and I doubt I'll bother playing it if it is included. If there's any game franchise in the universe that absolutely does not need multiplayer, it's ME.

Still might be a rumor at this point as indication of multiplayer hit just before the VGA's. Hope it doesn't happen though.
Rumours that Mass Effect 3 will include multiplayer support have emerged.

According to Joystiq, a "trusted source" has revealed that the third entry in the series will be the first to support multiplayer.

Mass Effect 3 was recently outed by a listing on EA's online storefront, which has since been removed. The report went on to fuel speculation of a formal unveiling at this weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Elsewhere, BioWare revealed that Mass Effect 2 will be available for PlayStation 3 in Europe and North America on January 21, 2011. The PS3 edition will include all previously released DLC and an interactive comic.

The VGAs take place at 1.00am GMT tomorrow.

I agree, never during my multiple playthoughs of ME did I ever stop and think "This game is great but it's missing one thing...Multiplayer!".

The problem is EA (and perhaps even Bioware) may not see it that way :/

I guess I'm the problem too, because I would love some Mass Effect multiplayer.

Eh, as long as the single-player game is up to snuff, they can add multiplayer, a foot massager, and whatever else they want. I'm really only interested in the SP portion and finally seeing the myriad ways Shepard's story ends.

...and what Tali looks like underneath the helmet. :o:woot:

Edit: I said Talia. Meant Tali. I'm thinking about TDKR too much. :csad:

I hope they never show us and it becomes a part of cult fanboyism that's debated endlessly. :oldrazz:

I want to know. Badly.

I don't really want to know what Tali looks like. Well, I do kind of, but I don't want to find out.

If the multiplayer could be something interesting like what Ubisoft has apparently accomplished with brotherhood and if it didn't detract from the single player than that would be great however I do not believe that to be the case at all. In fact I think the single player has probably already been reworked to accommodate a broader base, non exclusivity, and now multiplayer. Thats not saying that all of these were/are bad IMO but I'm sure many will disagree.

He means the ME1 concept art.

You can see a very human looking face though one could argue its just a placeholder, still to be fair there are a few shots of Tali in ME2 where you can see basically has a human facial structure.

It'll be right up there with the male Shep/Wrex fanfic. :hehe:

Shepard.

Wrex.

Well sure. I mean, I didn't expect her to look like an ithorian or something under there.

In my ideal world we'd have a Mass Effect: Battlefront-type game in addition to Mass Effect 3.
