Sometime @ the end of 2012, I was bored and sketched '5th Element' inspired version of Rainbow Brite, because I thought it might be funny to contrast such a lame character with a badace action heroine.

I had so much fun with the sketch, I decided to add a few more characters and do a full piece out of it... At that point I decided to pick 3 and kinda do it with a 'Charlie's Angels' vibe. I ended up choosing Smurfette, Rainbow Brite, and Cheetara from 'Smurfs', 'Raindow Brite', and 'Thundercats' receptively...

This was a bunch of fun to do... Hope you enjoy.

I think I'm gonna be sending out 2 designs for my 2013 Christmas Card, and so I'm getting an extra early start this year.

Design 1 is gonna be a massive crowd scene of characters from Christmas movies, TV specials, and non-Christmas movies set at Christmas time.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make suggestions... I want the final product to be enjoyable to a mass audience so ideas are appreciated!

More progress on my on my Christmas card...

This update was a beast, because that house was SOOOOO boring to do... But it's an important detail...

It's modeled after the house from 'A Christmas Story'. I added the Bumpass's dogs going inside to ruin Chirstmas dinner, the FRAGILE box, and of course the Leg Lamp to round it out.

Also in this update I've added the Grinch and his dog from 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'.

Finally, I added a Griffon perched on the roof. There's no Christmas movie reference here... but this year will be the 1st Christmas for my nephew, Griffin... so it's a tribute to him.

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more to come. Let me know what you think of the progress.

More progress on my on my Christmas card...

This update includes a bunch of random stuff...

From 'A Charlie Brown Christmas', I've included Snoopy, Snoopy's Dog House, the sad little Christmas Tree, and Charlie Brown doing his sad walk.

From 'A Christmas Carol', I added Ebenezer Scrooge.

From the cartoon TV special 'Frosty the Snowman', I added Frosty, himself.

Finally from 'The Christmas Story', I finished up Ralphie in his bunny outfit ('You look like a pink nightmare') and Randy is his winter clothes ('I can't put my arms down').

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more to come. Let me know what you think of the progress.

im loving everything but the dogs.. the dogs look like they're old and in slow motion. I don't think it captures exactly what you're trying to do. Your piece might be better without them. But everything else is fantastic.

I kept looking before i read going "old man with 3 old dogs?" what is this?

When i think of scrooged, i instantly think of the ghost played by the woman from taxi... I think shed fit

Oddly enough, my favorite line from that movie is when the taxi-ghost is laughing hysterically and is like 'It's a BONE you lucky dog! It's a bone!'

I was considering having the dead guy whose shirt says 'now i have a machine gun ho ho ho'... but I'd literally have to do 2 version of my card, because there is a HUGE portion of my card list that would not find that funny.

So that got edited out.

I wasn't really happy with the initial version I did of Ebenezer Scrooge from 'A Christmas Carol'. It just wasn't 100% clear that's how it was. I did a redo on him... I'm hoping the the top hat look is more obvious.

Also in this update, a polar bear from... ... ... the Arctic. It just feels like a Christmas crowd scene needs a polar bear... I blame Coke Commercials.

Scrooge looks much better, but I still don't think the dogs look right in the image. They look old, and like they're slowly crawling up the stairs, not rambunctious and about to mess up a house and ruin a Christmas feast.
