Matthew Jensen is the Director of Photography

Next thing we will hear (from I'net) is that get the best actor for the role like WW, it doesn't matter if it's male or female, 'cause just thinking about females is really limiting ourselves and being politically correct for the sake of bing pc. :oldrazz:
:funny:

That "it doesn't matter" argument is never used when Hollywood are only looking for white males to direct or star in a film. It's 100% okay to only look at white males but looking at only females and people of color is wrong and PC.

So, the imdb guy who first confirmed the italy locations and being shot on film, he says that Hoyt is the dp. Hmmm.
Oooh Hoyt's back on the table after straight-up denying it? But IMDB, ew. Dammit WB, make it official already.

Hoyte Van Hoytema? The guy with the greatest name ever? Didn't he completely deny being involved?

This guy might not have gotten the memo, perhaps, and still trusts the old rumor... what did he say exactly?

Who confirms Cinematographers unless it's a big time movie? And even then it's rare. You have too look up on IMDB for crew updates anyway if you want to see whos' doing what.

The last one I remember is Deakins being confirmed by Denis Villeneuve himself about doing Blade Runner 2.

I guess this makes sense with Blade Runner 2, because it was a matter of who will replace Cronenweth and will that person be up to the job.

They often include the significant crew members (DP, Production Designer, etc) in the sort of "below the line" section of their start-of-production press releases, as they just did with Fantastic Beasts.

I wonder if WB is making a conscious decision to shoot the DCCU on film, compared to Marvel's digital-only mandate.

MOS, BVS, SS and now WW are filming on actual celluloid. Will it stay that way through 2019-2020?

Yes they do that but people wanting the Cinematographer confirmed before hand like they do with actors and directors. That doesn't usually happen.

Suicide Squad didn't get an official press release after the initial announcement, so don't get your hopes up with WW.

Nonetheless, that's what I meant when I said "make it official." Seems like it's almost that time for a press release of some sort. Of course, they could forego it completely, but I just want to hear something official, dammit.

Maybe Hoyte denied it because he wasn't signed on yet. That's certainly possible.

Have to say I wasn't impressed with his lighting and work on Spectre. A serious step down from Deakins.

Honestly, I feel like anyone would be a step down from Deakins. Spectre had better cinematography than the other two Craig films though, imo. And I loved his work on Interstellar, Let the Right One In, and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

I freaking love Hoyte's work on Let the Right One In. Absolutely beautiful, fit the story to a T and very painterly. Interstellar looked nice but it didn't blow me away.

I'd wish WB would confirm the BTS people working on WW, now that it's filming. Other than the DP, I want to know who's editing it too.

Hoyte might have pulled a Momoa. Even though they don't work in the same areas.

Director of Photography, Production Designer, Costume Designer... Weird we don't know who'll fulfill these key positions.

And agree with some of you - I was very dissapointed with Hoytema's work on Spectre. Very clean, soft, low lighting...

In the case of WW, shooting on film might be mostly because it's a period piece.

Hopefully WB will release a press release specifying who's working on WW. Deborah Snyder said that they're hiring as many female BTS people on this film as possible.

Now, I think some of the BTS people will be male (apart from the writer and producers), but probably due to two factors: 1) Patty liked working with them on previous projects and wanted them or 2) Best qualified candidate regardless of gender.

I'll still take Hoyte's work on Spectre over the cinematography of most big Hollywood blockbusters. If they get him for this movie it'll be a boon.
