No doubt someone already commented on this but...

The opening to Turn, Turn, Turn was super awesome! Given I had just seen Cap 2 the day before, hearing those first few chords of Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper" really set the mood properly for me.

And given the events of the episode, I found it humorous considering:

The latter I think.

Here's a transcript:

Skye: Sir I know what you did for me. How you risked your life to save me. So thank you.

Garrett: You've got a good team around you. I just jumped on the bandwagon.

Skye: Well, you trained one of them, sir.

Garrett: Guess it all comes full circle. Ward's your SO. I was his. Turn, turn, turn.

Yep, that definitely sounds like Garrett is saying that there was a time for him being Ward's SO, and now there's a time for Ward being Skye's. That's the sense I got in the first place when I watched it, not betrayal... just yet. But of course, the song title in the actual episode with the same title is probably referring not just to betray and twists, but also a time for everything too.

OK. I had originally interpreted the quote as helping your SO, but, looking back, I'm not sure why I did.

You'd have to know that his line, and the title of the episode refer to that song by the Byrds, and what the song is about.

Here are the lyrics, which are based on Ecclesiastes 3

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

And that all kind of fits with what was happening in the episode and in CA:TWS.

I've seen a bunch of people predict that Ward is going to become the MCU version of the Grim Reaper. Its. . . well, you certainly *could* do that, but I don't see what evidence would actually point towards it happening.

Don't Fear the Reaper got a significant shout out a decade ago as it led to this:

Thanks guys, and Welcome aboard Ben!
Something like
"Ward is you SO, I was his. Turn, turn, turn."

The latter I think.

Before the episode, Clark Gregg tweeted "#MoreCowbell"
Hearing don't fear the reaper made everything fall into place :funny:

Watching Turn Turn Turn again now on ABC and, I hate to say it, but the actor that plays Triplett doesn't impress me very much. Good looking guy, has the young agent look. But his acting skills aren't very convincing. A lot of his lines, especially in that scene with Simmons were very dry and dull.

A bit like Dalton then.

Watching it again. I really think my theory of the timeline works. One of the biggest doubts was why May didn't warn Triskelion when she called and found out Fury was dead. But, even then, she got shot right away.

Right now, I'm seeing that Ward is the one who suggested backing up all the things they discovered (well, to be most accurate, Ward and Garrett).

And Simmons just said that the signal is clogging everything up, so there's no communicating beyond the Hub. Only things close by and the random chance through to the academy.

ETA: However, Hand stating that Fury is dead counters my point a bit. Obviously, she should have warned Triskelion. I suppose she could have been bluffing or she didn't trust the person she was talking to (possibly for good reasons, the person could have been a HYDRA agent).

ETA2: Fitz endorsed killing Hand, interestingly enough.

ETA3: Just for the record, John Garrett said that they came out of the shadows because Fury discovered their secret.
