Word was he had until March to make up his mind if he wanted to do another one. For obvious reasons...he wasn't...sure (Read: January Jones).

According to "TOLDJA," they just closed the deal:

With Bryan back at the helm I'm sure the X-Men will come back and consolidate their deserved position as the best superhero franchise the and are the strongest rivals of Marvel's avengers. Also with Singer back the possibility that the original cast might come back is so much higher.

Move over Robert Downey jr, Chris evans, Sam Jackson, Scarlett Johnasson. Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, and Ian Mckellen are back! And you've just been keeping their seat warm for them.

You sound displeased. What about? the fact that Bryan is back or the fact that it is confirmed that some of the original cast are returning as well.

    ...............Doesn't matter.

Enjoy your victory as it where.

This news may still prove advantageous in 2 years regardless.

Bryan Singer coming back is a good thing. And the return of OT actors like Hugh and Halle will only create buzz for the movie. Their return might not even take away from the first class story

The pressure is on to deliver, though.

No shoddy special effects, no bad wirework, flying scenes that look as convincing as Iron Man's zooming around, costumes that embrace colour and the comics much more, a great Storm (with a good wig for once!), and some depth and themes amid all that.

One thing that will be Intresting Is does film keep past In 1960's or does past move to 1970's or 1980's.Remember as First Class was hitting theatres Bryan Singer said with
prospect of First Class becoming trilogy about moving to 1970's and 1980's.One thing to consider Is James Mcavoy,Michael fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence are only first Class
members confirmed to return.based On Simon Kinberg's comments from Comic Con It Is safe bet for nicholas Holt to return as well.It defently Is something to think about.Plus
those who wanted January Jones replaced might get their wish with a jump to 70's or 80's.Maybe Mcavoy Is bald when we see younger Xavier.

If the x-men from the 60's have to prevent an assesination by the brotherhood, NO WAY the only mutants that will fight with them are Xavier and Beast. you know? :oldrazz:

The thing i mentioned are they jumping to later time to recast Banshee or Havok or are they jumping to later point In history so they can have teenage Cyclops,Jean, and Storm.
There Is no way Xavier and Beast are only X-Men In past.

Major hmmm moment here. I want to celebrate...I really do. But I have misgivings.

On the one hand, I do think that Bryan is a great director; he's an excellent storyteller. But I don't believe he told the best X-Men film stories. Does that even make sense? I know it sounds crazy but it's how I feel. His handling of...well, "everyone else" except Logan was a massive failure to me. Now, I'm afraid he'll be obsessively focused on Xavier and Erik and carve an almost homoerotic nuance out of their storyline--to the point of once again ignoring everyone else. And that's because Bryan's best work excels when he's focused on just 2 or 3 characters. Ensemble films I believe he struggles with big-time.

In other words: this decision to have him direct is a step forward in quality storytelling, but a total step backward in character development for the X-Men as a group. I want Avengers treatment here...hell, even Fantastic Four-level interraction where these mutants operate as a dysfunctional team of heroes. Even X-Men: Last Stand was a stab in the right direction for that. Not sure we'll get that for this sequel.

    I'm just...face-palmed out here.
