Excellent casting choice, putting Wahlberg as Payne. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

When this stupid weather clears up I'm going to and get snap some photos if I can get close enough to the set.

I think this has the possibility of becoming the best video game-turned film ever.

20th Century Fox has set Mila Kunis ("That '70s Show," "Family Guy") to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in Max Payne, the John Moore-directed action adaptation of the Rockstar video game.

Kunis will play an assassin who teams up with the title character to avenge her sister's death.

Wahlberg plays Payne, a cop haunted by the tragic loss of his family who finds himself in the thick of a conspiracy when he investigates a series of murders.

Beau Thorne wrote the script. Julie Silverman and Scott Faye are producers. Tom Karnowski is executive producer.

I like Mila. Honestly, I do. She's one of the funnier chicks in the biz, mostly for Meg and partly for her portrayal of Jackie.

Exclusive: Mila Kunis Talks Max Payne
On her character and the plot

Mila Kunis is the dictionary definition of lovely. She's the dictionary definition of all definitions of lovely (there are up to six of them, depending on your particular dictionary). You'll see her a little later this year in the comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but she's also currently shooting Max Payne.

We're not that well versed with the computer game on which the movie is based, but it's basically about a cop (Mark Wahlberg) who has lost his family and is on a mission to bring those who caused their deaths to justice. We recently chatted with Kunis, who had this to say about the movie.

"For anyone who’s got concerns about Mark [Wahlberg] playing Max Payne, he’s amazing in it. Great actor, great guy," she insists. "I play [an assassin] called Mona Sachs who accuses him of murdering her sister and later comes to find out it wasn’t him. They kind of get together and try to figure out who was responsible for the murder of his wife and child and her sister. The whole film is about realising that you can go on a revenge spree and get your revenge but it doesn’t solve the problem. It’s a really great, dark movie. The story actually combines [the games] Max Payne 1 and 2 together. Lots of shooting and gunplay, but what makes this script different is that it’s a really dark, sad movie about a man who loses everything and thinks that the only way he can get it back is by revenge. And comes to terms with realising that he’ll never get it back."

First ever good computer game movie? Hope so.

I'm not crazy about Kunis as Mona.

I'm going to give her a shot.

I hope this movie is big dumb loud over-the top fun fest. Cast sounds pretty good to me. Love that Whalberg is going to be Max Payne! Love it.

This movie can't come soon enough, great casting choices especially Wahlberg, I'm sold.

Dark? Hopefully gritty? I'm there. I'm willing to let Kunis have a shot.

Hope this film finally ends the streak of bad VG-based movies, I mean live-action in that sense because the CGI films like: 'Advent Children', whatever.
