I was bothered by the rating at first but now it makes sense. Max Payne is not really what you would consider violent like a God of War, Resident Evil, or even Gears of War. There's violence and blood obviously, but nothing too graphic when you think about it.

Although I definitely believe it could look a bit more grittier and darker. But overall I think it looks good and could be the second decent VG adaptation.

Max Payne- Rated PG-13 for violence including intense shooting sequences, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language

sounds fine with me

See, why doesn't the MPAA just allow reasonable blood squibs and two three extra F-bombs? I think it would work out for the best. Studios and audiences alike would benefit a lot from that.

How so? It's not even that popular among non-gamers for them to even compare it to the original games.

I meant in the PG-13 rating in general.

Or aren't aware of the fact that people bleed when they get shot. I wish one of these days the MPAA would get off Jesus' doodle and apply some critical thinking.

The love affair that members of this board have with R rated movies scares me sometimes.

Long as the movie is good, I don't care about the rating.

videos games to movies tend to be n ot good at all.

How does a game that is rated M, get made into a movie that is rated PG-13? Shouldn't it be a no brainer R??

All that aside, this film looks wicked!

This is one of those movies that's going to have to score at least a 70% positive on the old Rottentomatoes meter for me to see it in the theater.

I'm sure this has been asked, but what's with all the angels in the trailer? Drug hallucination or did they turn Max Payne into Constantine 2?

You know, I made a bet with a hater that this would get at least 70%...

I'm in trouble :p

I saw this commercial with a few guys I know the other night, and they were like, "yeah, we gotta see this ****, that ***** up in there fighting angels and ****!" I was like, "nah, they ain't real, that's just people trippin' balls and thinking they see them." Silence, then he's like, "straight up? That's gonna be some crazy **** too then!"

Nuts.

Just watched some of the clips and they look really good. Here's hoping this film breaks the streak of the bad video game films.

nice clips, my hopes for this movie even went higher.

I didn't really get anything from the clips...just that it looks like a dumb shoot em up flick...i laughed when he punched Chris O'Donnell in the face.
