MCU Doctor Doom

ha, well, at least he’s kept his script. Oh well. Maybe one day. It’s not like the mcu is a light that’s going out any time soon and every phase has to have its new franchises
Yeah, there should be time for everything long term. The MCU could be going for the rest of our lives (and on).

IF mcu movies take a nosedive after the FF and X-Men revivals (his Feigeness delaying them moreso to have an excuse should original marvel studios films fail) and (by my current perception) dopey film enthusiast Alan Horn and blame segueing (again by my current perception) eager Iger retire then Marvel Studios may actually begin to look at the actually creatively experimental script by Noah Hawley at least in a semiserious manner I think.

I wouldn’t mind if they used something akin to this design in the MCU.

Looks pretty awesome. And, I would definitely not be bummed out if they cast Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. On top of that, I don't think he's too old for the part. In fact, I don't think age is much of an issue for Doom at all. If they do show his face it'll be pretty Darth Vadered up anyway.

It seems like a Doom movie would fit in to the MCU right now. I'm not saying Hawley's vision is right or not but it just seems like this would fit in as a perfect setup for the next Avenger's film.

I KNOW you meant FF. :argh: :cwink:

It would be a good way to seed them and lead up to that as well, and possibly prevent re-hashing their entire origin again.

Thing is you can't kill Doom. He's would be the perfect next multi arc bad guy.

You know, the guy they recently cast in the BBC's Dracula would make an interesting Doom.

That's what several of us have been saying.

Sometimes I'm not sure though. He does seem to come across as a cross between Jeroen Krabbe and Goran Visjnic.

One thing's for sure though. Claes Bang ought to be a Bond villain.

Agreed. Never ever kill Doom. He’s the iconic Marvel villain.

I just watched Dracula. That was a weird way to end things. I think he’d be fine.

The only time I wouldn't mind if they "killed" Doom was thinking if the heroes etc beat him and "kill" him only to find out its a Doombot...

Or he uses some mystical trick to make it appear he dies.

Should Doom be two actors: one voice and one actor? I say let some model do him until the accident then let Mads Mikelson voice him..........or someone like that. If Doom is played by a big name, we know he will barely have that mask on. And whoever plays him will become a breakout star so may as well just get a voice actor like Rocket Raccoon. What do you guys think? :awesome:

Well fortunately Claes Bang isn't a big name, so he could work and might not need to keep taking off his mask. But then they could just get anyone in there. I don't know if he'd agree to having someone else voice him too.

Doom appeared to die many times in the comic, so I'd be fine with that happening only to find out he didn't die after all, or maybe he was brought back by someone.

In fact, having him die at the end of a movie but finding out that he didn't really die would add to the feel of him being this ongoing and unkillable villain. That should even have been the same with Ultron who, in the comics, is called the Evil Undying. Ultron has been destroyed so many times only to rebuild himself and return, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all in the movies.

But a robot like Ultron would probably not be interesting enough to sustain a series of films, whereas Doom would be.

I hope they give him his own movie. Latveria deserves to have as much effort put into its culture, geography and history as Wakanda did

If he were younger, I’d say he’s outright appropriate to play Bond himself. He’s already got a Pierce Brosnan vibe to him.

If he were Bond, then Lulu would have to sing "Who will he Bang? We shall see!!!!"

I feel like they will go younger for Doom. Adam Driver seems like an obvious choice, but I suppose the whole masked villain thing might feel redundant. Maybe a good comeback role for JGL and redemption from his stint as Cobra Commander.

I definitely don’t want a dreamy young doom. We’ve seen watered down versions enough already. It’s time for the supervillain’s supervillain. The biggest threat in the room, whatever the room

Doom needs that gravitas which often comes with age. I definitely don't want him either like Toby Kebell or Julian McMahon.

Adam Driver definitely doesn't seem enough even for a Star Wars villain, so I don't think he suits Doom either.

Javier Bardem would be awesome as Doom

I think he is too old now.
