We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So don't forget to VOTE and after voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

Don't forget to put which Tier group you think Vision and Doctor Strange belong to in your posts. Also, don't forget I've now added the option of being able to change your vote if you change your mind.

So, without further delay here is this week's match up

DOCTOR STRANGE

VISION

- Mind Stone: It is an Infinity Stone which was revealed to be inside Loki's Scepter by Ultron when he broke the protective casing of the Scepter's gem so he could use the stone's power to bring life to the Vision during an attempt to create a more powerful and evolved body for himself. Thor later entrusted the stone to Vision.

- Superhuman Durability: The Vibranium composition of Vision's body allows him to withstand attacks of immense force with no visible damage to his exterior, with Hawkeye's baton breaking against him, for instance. Vision is also able to increase the durability of his physical form even further by manipulating his density and weight, to the point of a huge bus that crashed into Vision at great speed, broke apart and lost all of its forward momentum.

- Density Manipulation: An ability attributed to the Mind Stone, Vision can increase or decrease his own density and weight at will, allowing him to increase the durability of his physical form or make himself completely weightless. Effects of this ability include:

- Superhuman Strength: Vision can greatly increase his physical strength to immense superhuman levels by increasing his density, demonstrated by Vision effortlessly overpowering Hawkeye, taking down numerous Ultron Sentries with his bare hands, overpowering Corvus Glaive despite having been stabbed by his weapon in their first fight, grappling with Ultron himself while the latter was in his most powerful vibranium form, sending Ultron flying with a single blow of Mjølnir, and even making the gigantic Ant-Man stumble with a mighty blow.

- Intangibility: Vision's control over his density, weight and mass give him the ability to phase through solid objects. As he does so, an aura of greenish-yellow light envelopes the part of his body that is phased through matter. When phasing, Vision can increase his density to destroy the object he phases through from the inside. With this ability, Vision can walk through walls, fly right through the gigantic Ant-Man, rip apart numerous Ultron Sentries, and even phase his fingers through Ultron's vibranium outer shell. Corvus Glaive's spear was the only known thing capable of negating Vision's phasing powers after the latter was stabbed with it.

- Levitation: Vision can minimize his density to its lowest point in order to hover above the ground, granting him the power of levitation. He can control his own motion-based force to move through the air at great speeds and instantly stop moving while in the air by completely, freezing his motion.

- Energy Blasts: Vision is capable of drawing raw power from the Mind Stone to fire beams of intense energy from his forehead. This beam is incredibly powerful, enough to slice down an airport tower in seconds, and even damage Ultron's most powerful Vibranium-coated body.

- Synthetic Skin Constructs: Through the power of the Mind Stone, Vision can willfully generate synthetic material. He used this ability to create armor and a cape shortly after his birth in Avengers Tower. Vision can also shape more conventional clothes to adapt to society. Over time, he has evolved this ability to be able to completely change his appearance and make himself look like a normal human. However, his ability to do so was shut down upon being stabbed through the chest by Corvus Glaive's Glaive.

- Computer Interaction: Vision was able to hack into Ultron's programming and disable the latter's ability to enter the Internet. However, the great effort involved in this task temporarily exhausted Vision, incapacitating him for a short time.
Abilities

- Genius-Level Intellect: Being an artificial intelligence, Vision learns inhumanly quickly and can download data directly to his mind. He formulated an equation based on the events that happened over the years that led to the Sokovia Accords, concluding that the Accords were the necessary path to both aid people and dissuade their growing fears regarding the Avengers. He was also able to determine a method to destroy the Mind Stone via Scarlet Witch.

- Combatant: Vision displayed himself to be a highly formidable close-quarters fighter, displaying excellent combat skills that were made much more efficient using his density-manipulating powers granted to him by the Mind Stone and superhuman physical attributes. Vision was thus able to easily overpower Hawkeye, a master martial artist on par with Black Widow, despite the fact that Hawkeye had a staff while Vision was unarmed, getting him into a headlock and it was only because Scarlet Witch used her superior psionic powers to manipulate the Mind Stone that he was defeated. Vision was also capable of standing his ground against Corvus Glaive, a highly trained soldier of Thanos, despite being severely wounded by the latter's weapon during both encounters, even briefly gaining the upper hand until he was hit by a reflected energy blast, and still holding his own despite being weakened further before he was overpowered.

DOCTOR STRANGE

- Master Sorcerer: As the former guardian of the New York Sanctum, Strange, despite his relative inexperience, was one of the most powerful members of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, possessing an extremely high level of mastery over magic which he used to defend his native reality. Indeed, despite his inexperience, an impressed Karl Mordo claimed that Strange's prodigious skills meant that he was "born for the mystic arts", and the Ancient One herself noted that Strange has tremendous potential as a sorcerer. Indeed, even while still inexperienced, Strange was able to use the powers of the Time Stone's container, the Eye of Agamotto, quite effectively and safely, despite it being considered to be very dangerous for the natural order.

- Eldritch Magic Manipulation: Strange is able to shape and manipulate Eldritch Magic, forming tangible constructs of energy such as weapons or shields, as well as cast spells by writing specific formations with the fiery energy. He demonstrated the ability to form Eldritch Whips and Tao Mandalas and could scan a piece of Thor's hair with the energy and briefly conjure Odin's symbol to aid in forming a portal that would take him to Odin.

- Transmutation: During his meeting with Thor, Strange was able to turn a cup of tea into a large mug of beer that was also able to magically refill itself, much to Thor's pleasant surprise. After Bruce Banner crashed through the roof of the Sanctum, Strange was able to transform the normal street clothes he was wearing into his blue robes. During the Battle of Titan, Strange transformed a singularity sent by Thanos into multitudes of blue butterflies, impressing the Mad Titan.

- Atmospheric Spell: Strange was able to conjure a wave of golden light that cleared the street of smoke and debris after Ebony Maw's Q-Ship landed in Greenwich Village, while also stopping the destructive windstorm the ship was causing. The smoke was expelled from the street and towards the sky.[9]
Protection Spell: To protect the Eye of Agamotto from being stolen by Ebony Maw, Strange cast a protection spell upon the relic that burned anyone that attempts to take it, making it seemingly impossible to remove it unless the spell was removed, even if he were killed.

- Binding Spell: During the Battle of Titan, Strange conjured dark red metallic bands to restrain Thanos's hand so he couldn't use the power of the Infinity Gauntlet. The bands were much stronger than the usual Eldritch Whip he uses to restrain enemies, notably able to restrict Thanos' use of the Gauntlet for a considerable period of time, although Thanos was able to eventually break out and redirect the force of the bands to knock Strange away.

- Duplication Spell: During the Battle of Titan, Strange was able to create dozens of copies of himself to attack Thanos with their Eldritch Whips. The duplicates, however, were quickly dispersed when Thanos released a wave of energy from the Power Stone, with only the real Strange remaining.

- Flight: Using the Cloak of Levitation, Strange is able to levitate, hover, and fly. The Cloak can greatly lessen the impact of falling from great heights by effortlessly reducing his speed.

- Dimensional Warping: Strange was capable of conjuring a construct of the Mirror Dimension in the form of crystalline fractals that acted as a shield, absorbing an energy beam from the Power Stone, and was also able to send the fractals at Thanos.

- Teleportation: Using a Sling Ring, Strange is able to open portals that lead to different locations, gaining the ability to both move across the material world and to other parts of the Multiverse. Strange can also teleport others at great speeds, with him notably causing a portal to move and engulf Thor and Loki, sending them to Odin's location, as well as rapidly open portals for Star-Lord and Spider-Man during their fight with Thanos.

- Interdimensional Travel: Using the same Sling Ring, Strange can travel between different dimensions of the Multiverse, crossing over different planes of existence or traveling across various forms of reality. However, Strange was notably able to access the Mirror Dimension and transport himself and the Zealots there without the Sling Ring. Furthermore, Strange can forcibly transport others to another dimension, and later retrieve them, as he did when temporarily imprisoning Loki in a dimension where he was constantly falling, leaving him there for thirty minutes until Thor asked for his release. When the Black Order arrived to retrieve the Time Stone, Strange and Wong were able to send an attack by Ebony Maw back by opening portals to a void-like dimension.

- Astral Projection: Strange is capable of separating his astral form from his body, gaining access to the Astral Dimension. He notably was able to assist Christine Palmer in operating on his physical body, demonstrating being able to make himself visible to her at will, using the use of the Mirror Dimension as a medium. Strange's Astral body could also make physical body glow from the inside out by putting his hand through it and touching it, which he used to allow Christine to better see his wound when she operated on him.

- Conjuration: Strange was able to make an umbrella stand appear in front of Thor for him to put down Mjølnir, which had been disguised as an umbrella. He also was able to hide the Time Stone after secretly removing it from the Eye of Agamotto and later made it appear between his fingers, allowing it to float over to Thanos.

Until Strange gets more feats, I vote Vision for pretty much the same reasons I voted for Malekith to beat Strange last time (and why I'll keep voting for any powerhouse or transcendent characters Strange fights). Vision's far more powerful offensively, he's got immense strength and an Infinity Stone fuelled ranged attack. Defensively, he's got such a huge durability advantage that nothing we've seen from Strange so far would be enough to kill/KO him.

Until he gets better feats, Strange's only chance is to try and use a portal to remove Vision from the battlefield but I have two issues with that:

1) Between Vision's intelligence, speed, intangibility and flight Strange will have a very hard time getting Vision through a portal before Vision can take him out.

2) Trapping a completely unharmed Vision in the mirror dimension (or wherever he sent Loki to fall for 30 minutes) seems more like an exploit than a win through greater power. That kind of exploit could be used on a lot of powerful characters (Kurse, Base Thanos, Hela etc) but since they'd murder him in a straight fight I still consider them more powerful than Strange.

Ehh. . . we saw Strange take on Thanos in single combat, and do better than any of the other heroes in that fight. I am comfortable saying that he can take Vision, as long as the fight doesn't start with obviously tilted conditions ( ie, "Vision starts in melee range" ). Its not like Strange doesn't have his own Infinity Stone, and a lot more demonstrated skill in its use, too.

Got Strange but barely. I would actually vote draw if I could.

If you watch the fight again, Strange showed us he knows some amazing defensive spells and that he can conjure magical restraints but - unlike Iron Man - he didn't even manage to lay a scratch on Thanos. When it comes to actually hurting anyone above human level durability he's featless.

I'm not saying Strange couldn't put up a fight but ultimately, he can't hurt Vision whereas Vision can hurt him.

Its not like Strange doesn't have his own Infinity Stone, and a lot more demonstrated skill in its use, too.

I presume Strange doesn't have the time stone here? @BigThor

Strange doesn't have the Time Stone here, the version of Strange that does is in the Cosmic Tier.

Strange has a no killing code which would unlikely apply to the Vision. The reason he generally tries to restrain rather than kill his foes is that he's a doctor and swore an oath to do no harm (which he expressly states in his origin film).
As such he could unleash his full powers against Vision ( people also forget that Strange knew he was going to lose to Thanos, in fact he had to in order to bring about the future where the Avengers defeat Thanos).

Strange's mystic shields held up against blows from Thanos and given that they are energy rather than matter I doubt Vision could phase through them.

Given that Strange turned a mini black hole that Thanos threw at him into butterflies I feel very confident that Strange wins this one.

And, as before, Strange's sarcasm would be a devastating weapon.

Strange

Not only does he posses powerful magic, he's also far more creative and adaptable in battles than Vision.

Vision for the win, I can't see him not landing one shot on Strange and with a body made out of Vibranium one shot is all he would need.

Yeah, how did that Vibranium body work out for him in Infinity War? Corvus just about killed him, twice - and Corvus was nearly killed by Black Widow. Vision is overrated IMO.

He was nearly killed by a spear that can cut through anything, its a pretty rare occasion anything like that has been done to Vibranium, Vision even says that it stopped him from phasing.

Not really something Strange has on hand in a fight

Strange could beat Vision with his sarcasm alone.

Vision in the MCU since AoU has been fairly unimpressive. Strange held his own against Thanos for a while .I see him winning.

Definitely a close one whatever way it goes and just to make it clear if we were going for which character I prefer it would be Strange lol, I just fancy Vision for his ability to hit from range plus flight and phasing.

Whoa! Bro, don't go there! He is not overrated. If anything, he's underrated. He was caught off guard by Corvus and was injured the rest of the movie. Had he been full strength, no way would Corvus stood a chance. I actually think they had to write him that way because Promixa and Corvus couldn't defeat him without the Maw on their side.

Vision has got to do something impressive in order to get rated appropriately.

Yes he lifted Mjolnir, blindsided Giant Man, stabbed Corvus from behind, got hit by a bus, blasted a tower and cut off Ultron's internet access, but as combat feats these aren't that impressive for all his supposed power.

Compare that with Strange going 1 on 1 with Thanos and not dying.

I accept that he was wounded but Vision didn't manage to do much against Corvus in hand to hand - Black Widow nearly killed Corvus with a single stab.

The problem with Vision is that he's only had limited appearances, so he's had few chances to really show off. Its not even that he's weak, the few times he's been beaten have involved fairly excessive opposition. But when those are the majority of your appearances, you look like Worf.

Which is to say, Vision is plenty powerful. He just isn't powerful *enough* to win against a guy who stood toe to toe against Thanos better than anyone else.

Also, remember, Corvus Glaive's whole specialty is pretty evidently "ninja master". He sneaks, and he backstabs, and he has a really good spear for facilitating such. So, him losing a direct fight against someone doesn't make his non-direct sneak attacks somehow irrelevant. It just means he's much better at one thing than the other.

Here's hoping that Vision gets a power boost in Endgame and/or on the TV show. Maybe then he'll stop losing these matches.

He seemed pretty powerful to me, even OP at times (AOU & Infinity War specifically).

AOU is the only time that he's truly been OP. He's been underwhelming in his other appearances.

If anything, he's underrated.

Vision vs Corvus was a weird one. Corvus is a superhuman level fighter (hence the close fight with Cap and Widow managing to stab him) with a powerhouse/transcendent level weapon that can cut through anything.

In a straight fight Vision would curbstomp him but instead Vision was taken off guard and backstabbed in the first second of his first fight scene in Infinity War. Even so, he survived and continued to put up a bit of a fight. I don't think that's anything to be embarrassed about, most of the powerhouse tier wouldn't even survive a backstab like that, never mind keep fighting.

Anyway, Strange doesn't have a blade that can cut through anything so that's moot.

You seem to be saying Strange was capable of hurting/killing Thanos but chose not to. I doubt that. Like I said in my last post, he's featless when it comes to hurting characters with durability above human level. As far as we know, the spell Strange tried to use against Thanos which missed and blew up a few rocks is the most powerful offensive spell he knows.

If you're right though and Strange has a 'do no harm' hippocratic oath which even applied to Thanos - an alien on the verge of wiping out half the universe - then surely it'd also apply to a fully sentient artificial intelligence, hero and all round nice guy like Vision? Why would Strange be robophobic?

Vision is plenty powerful. He just isn't powerful *enough* to win against a guy who stood toe to toe against Thanos better than anyone else.

Strange's fight with Thanos was great but I don't know if I'd say it was better than Iron Man's fight against Thanos (and neither of them did as well as Thor did).

If there was a one vs one between Vision and 4 stone Thanos I imagine he'd put up a respectable fight but ultimately lose, same as Iron Man and Strange did.

AOU is the only time that he's truly been OP. He's been underwhelming in his other appearances.
He's only been in three films and he spent Infinity War critically injured (see above). As for the other two:

In Age of Ultron Vision held his own against Thor in a deleted scene and then he was arguably the MVP in defeating Ultron, first by burning him out of the internet, then by ragdolling him with Mjolnir and then finally by defeating Ultron Prime:

6173383-visionultronfight.gif

and then for bonus points he casually used his flight/speed/phasing to find and rescue Scarlet Witch from Sokovia seconds before Thor blew it to smithereens.

In Civil War the only other hero in his league was Scarlet Witch (who takes him off guard and overpowers him but that's nothing to be ashamed of) so he spends the whole film holding back. He even gives the entirety of team Cap an "I could've killed you all just now if I'd wanted to" warning shot when he burns a line in the ground in front of them halfway through the airport fight.

Whenever he does choose to fight, it's clear he's OP. He intervenes twice in the fight against Giant Man (once to block a bus from crushing Black Panther, once to knock Giant Man back), he then destroys an airport tower, and unintentionally one shots War Machine when trying to shoot down Falcon.

Strange hasn't really shown that much that would clearly be able to harm Vision. He has very powerful defensive and controlling spells, but in terms of pure attack there's not that much.

Vision on the other hand definitely has the power to take out Strange, especially as the latter has no durability to speak of. Vision can fly very fast so I think Strange only has one shot before Vision closes the distance, and since Vision can turn intangible there's far less that affects him and Strange can't afford to take a blow to land a blow, like super durable characters can.

Strange of course has the kind of power that can do all sorts of weird things, but if we're going purely on things we've seen I think I take Vision here.

I voted for Doctor Strange.

I was incredibly impressed with his showdown against Thanos. DS was facing 1 on 1 the most powerful being in the universe. Thanos was wielding 4 stones at the time, Space, Power, Reality and Soul. DS most impressive feats where part of his defensive capability, he easily defended against a beam of the Power Stone and effortlessly counter attacked the move with a spell that was only broken because Thanos used the Power Stone to stop it.

Then Thanos used the Space Stone to create a black hole and launch it at DS, which he, once again, defended with ease... He then used that insane attacking move where creates countless duplicates of him and all of them attack Thanos at once pinning him down. The only way Thanos got out of that was with the use of the Power and Soul Stone in order to first free himself and then identify the original DS. Even after that, Thanos could only pin down DS by using both the Space and Reality Stone.

DS is no joke. He has many offensive moves that can only be countered by the use of several specific infinity stones. No-one knows what the impact of those attacking moves would be on Thanos if he where to tank them.

Some say that DS is somewhat of a glass cannon. I kind of agree but in order to take him out one needs to get to him first and Thanos had the help of several specific stones to pull it off. Vision's Mind Stone was basically only shown to produce a blast and DS copes with those and supposedly even more powerful blasts easily... Vision can fly, so can DS...
