MCU Hulk vs DCCU Doomsday

Right, this should be fun! These characters often have vs threads for their comic book counterparts, so I thought I would do one for the movie versions. This is nothing to do with the quality of the movies or which movie you preferred. It's a straight up who would win in a fight between the two thread.

And let's try and have some fun with this rather than turn it into a MCU vs DCCU thing, vote away.

"The madder Hulk gets, the stronger he becomes." That rule was established in the battle between Hulk and Abomination.
When Hulk moved to The Avengers, his jump height went up considerably compared to TIH.

There is this problem for Hulk though, Doomsday is very powerful, and he evolves to resist attacks previously inflicted on him (except for Wonder Woman's sword slash) faster than Hulk gets stronger or heals. All those spikes on Doomsday will pierce old jade jaws.

While Hulk does get stronger the madder he gets in the movies also, I think Doomsday would be finished with him before he gets strong enough to influence the fight. Plus, Doomsday took a nuke full on and a trip from space back to earth and neither seemed to phase him. Not sure the Hulk can compete with that.

I think Doomsday would win. He adapts to any attack which means he'll keep adapting to the Hulk every time he gets stronger.

I think Hulk would find some way to win. He's got the heart. And he's more intelligent (sometimes). I would love to see Hulk smash this new doomsday. It wouldn't be an easy battle at all though.

Definitely, and the stronger Hulk grows, the more Doomsday would evolve to adapt. Hulk is my favourite MCU character, but I think he would lose this one before he could grow strong enough to make a difference.

Yep Hulk would be the underdog and by the numbers, I would go Doomsday. but that's what the hero does.He wins against overwhelming odds. I don't feel its so unbalanced that I would be upset if Hulk won though. I got the impression those Apaches were really putting a hurting on Doomsday before the energy pulse kicked in. I'm not even sure just punching him triggers his energy absorption.

I think the Apaches were hurting him, but that was baby Doomsday, by the end I don't think they would have made a scratch on him.

Hulk is certainly a vastly better character, and had vastly better writing. . . but Doomsday was basically invulnerable. He'd win, even if it'd take a while.

I think without Kryptonite, the movie version of DD is pretty much unstoppable.

While I would actually like the Hulk to win this one, movie DD was pretty much unstoppable. If his spikes were able to pierce Superman, they could certainly pierce the Hulk's hide. DD was hit by a nuke and just walked it off.

The biggest weakness of course, is that the Hulk has an alternate form - whereas DD is only a relentless killing machine.

Now in terms of who's a better character, the Hulk wins hands down. DD was simply terrible, even taking away Bana/Norton/Ruffalo as Banner, the Hulk as a CGI character has personality, a lot more than DD.

Movie monsters can be a lot more than plot devices - done right they can have a lot of character and have meaningful interactions with the human characters (even if they don't speak).

E.G. Watch Dragonslayer (1981) Vermithrax Pejorative, probably the greatest movie dragon ever, done with puppets, models and stop-motion has far more personality than DD. You can feel the creature's rage and nastiness it has enormous personality. Smaug, for all his CGI slickness, is nothing in comparision.

For a CGI example, the Cave Troll from LOTR, it's a small mountain of CGI nastiness and we all cheer, when it meets its end.

DD is simply just a moving plot device, he doesn't even feature in the film long enough to feel like a serious menace and has zero personality. Pacific Rim's Kaiju were much better monsters !

So, while DD might win a fist fight, in any other sense MCU Hulk is vastly superior.

To be honest I am sure MCU Hulk could beat DCCU Superman from what we have scene, and Superman couldn't handle Doomsday on his own, so yeah, Doomsday win this fight all day for me.

Say what ? Have to disagree with you there. DCCU Superman would deal to Hulk handily (given that he fought off two opponents who have the same level of strength and invulnerability as him - and were better fighters). DCCU Superman would throw the Hulk into orbit, and pick his teeth with Iron Man. Unless the Hulk had Kryptonite I can't see him having a chance against Supes.

I suspect Superman struggled with Doomsday, partially because DD was super-powerful, but also because Supes had been gassed with kryptonite (twice), curb-stomped by Batman while under the influence of the aforementioned K-grenades, and then hit with a nuclear weapon. That's a lot to walk off. Plus the story required that he "die."

But that of course, is just my opinion.
