MCU Marathon - Infinity War Rewatch Thread

I'm making a random rewatch of the MCU. Last night I saw GOTG Vol. 2 again and that film, while good, has a few cringe-worthy moments. This time they stood out a lot more, for some reason. The serious moment undercut by a joke were too many, and Drax was laughing waaay too much.
On the other hand, the last 10 minutes are gold. Those last moments elevate the entire film.

I'm probably going to watch Avengers,Winter Soldier,Age of Ultron, Civil War and Ragnarok as we get closer to Infinity War.

See, I am thinking I may save my massive every Marvel film ever marathon for Avengers 4. That is the true climax. But, I will at least watch Avengers, Avengers AoU and the phase 3 films.

That’s what I am doing also, I only recently did an MCU marathon for Ragnorak, so not ready to do another one just yet, but will be for A4.

Just watched Iron Man 2 and it's definitely not as good as I remembered. I like the action sequences but that's pretty much about it. Bottom 3 MCU and may only have the edge over Hulk because how disconnected that one is now.

Yeah, Iron Man 2 has good action on the third act, although the final fight with Whiplash is TERRIBLY SHORT.

My biggest problem with the final fight scene is that Vanko's armor is just really, really boring and generic. Its such a step down from his aesthetically awesome look in the Monaco fight, it hurts what is otherwise a fine scene.

I think the Incredible Hulk is a better movie, but Iron Man 2 is certainly more entertaining and more rewatchable.

Even Black Widow isn't really that great in it except for her big scene

Rewatched Avengers last night after a few years without watching it. Such a perfectly balanced film. The interaction between the characters is so well done.

I also noticed the contrast between Thor in his early days and in Ragnarok, is remarkable how different he acts. He is so boring in this one.

Today's rewatch was Thor. The stuff on Asgard is legitimately good! Especially the first half of the film until it loses a bit of steam once he arrives on Earth.

Rewatching Age of Ultron, the party scene where they're all dressed "casually" and talking like regular people is still one of my favorites in the entire MCU.

Yep, nothing at all wrong with that. I like Rhodey’s “Boom” punchline joke too.

Looks like me rewatch schedule now has to be sped up a bit with them making IW's release date a week earlier.

Yeah, you get to know them a bit more, not just on the battle. That bit about them lifting Mjolnir is pure bliss. Is like when you played with your action figures and you made them do crazy *****.

I love wind down issues in the comics like this too where the characters are playing baseball or something and just chilling out with no imminent threat.

I'm getting Ragnarok so I'll watch that before IW.

With most of Iron Man through GOTG appearing on F/X. And seeing AOU and Ant-Man on Starz, I've watched most of them multiple times. I've seen all of Phase 3 except for TR & BP twice.

I will probably look through my MCU movies tonight and decide if I want to do mini-prep, or watch them all. Probably starting that process of watching them this weekend.

My Ragnarok 4K arrived yesterday. Looking forward to rewatching the **** out of that.

YES. Exactly. That.

I've been rewatching them with my wife, recently. So far, we're up to Incredible Hulk.

Wow, Incredible Hulk was even worse than I remembered. Not only is the SFX dubious and the plot and characterization all out of Central Casting, but the continuity is awful. More than one scene can't decide whether its supposed to be day or night.

Got around to Captain America: The First Avenger today. A lot of people would say it's the most underrated movie in the MCU and I'd probably agree.

Also, every villain in Phase One is good except Whiplash.

Iron Monger/Stane: I liked him enough
Hulk: Abomination/Blonsky: I'd be cool seeing him show up again
Vanko: Not good
Loki and Laufey were good imo
Red Skull: Good when the script allowed
None of them besides Loki are big standouts but I wouldn't say any of them were bad

I too have been doing a re-watch and I'm up to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.1
