Yeah. I'd even argue that Iron Man stopped being the "face of the MCU" after Phase 2.
Didn't Feige say a long while ago Dr Strange was going to be the new flagship franchise?
I see what you did there.
The Blu-Ray cover for BvS and Justice League makes it seem like WW's the main character
I really can't agree with this. Look at the MCU so far. Who is the long time traditional heroic "lead" of the Marvel Universe that would make the most sense to be the face of the MCU from a story perspective? Captain America? Who actually is the face of the MCU? Iron Man. Because he's more popular.
Wonder Woman arguably is. She's front and center in their marketing and their big highly anticipated film is hers. When are the next Henry Cavill Superman and Ben Affleck Batman movies coming out again? The main reason she hasn't been is because she came along late in the process. I'd be very surprised if she's not going forward.
The special edition cover will also have Aquaman pushing to the front lol.
There is a tough competition between Doctor strange and Black Panther. But according to me Black panther will be the one.
#1 at Box Office -
Feige claims it will be Captain Marvel but I honestly think it will be BP
Didn't he say it would be Strange?
I think the plan was for Captain Marvel to take on the mantle, but that was before Black Panther's 1 billion dollar box office. He'll certainly be the main guy going forwards. Him, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Spiderman will be the four main pillars of the MCU.
I hope to see a couple of new faces featured prominently as well. Expect to see Shang Chi as part of the Avengers 5 lineup and maybe Sersi (from Eternals) as well.
It’s going to be Deadpool.
Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Reed Richards and Black Panther.
It’s going to be between Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Their replacing Rogers and Stark as the leads. There solo movies are coming out the right time, will and would make the most money and have similar traits the characters they are replacing.
Unless a new deal is announced, I'm not even going to assume Spider-Man will be in the MCU after this summer.
I'd like it to be Cyclops or Storm
But realistically it's either Spider-Man, Black Panther, or Captain Marvel
Theyl obviously upping T'Challa's status now, but Feige isn't going to change his course just over one movie's box office, especially before we've even seen how Captain Marvel goes over.
Most likely, Carol will be the "new Cap" and T'Challa will be the "new Tony" with Spidey rounding out a new generation of the "Big Three".
I don’t think BP’s box office is the only factor as that box office was also for the entire supporting cast and Wakanda. You take T’Challa away from that and he is down to being say a $900m hero (same goes for Aquaman) whereas Strange loses very little transitioning away from the environment and supporting characters of his own film. I don’t see a whole lot between Strange, BP and what Im expecting from CM. I could see all 3 being leaders of what is to come in one way or another.
BP with the domestic BO and Oscar nomination is the clear cut fave. Unless CM does something otherworldly in both categories, its Tchalla.
Cyclops and Storm turn will come, Im so sure about it.
We just need patience, but their time will come, and probably once BP and the like are in their last movies (maybe)
Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long till they’re introduced. There’s at least a chance of a Storm cameo in a BP film.
if Storm gets introduced in BP2, she will be huge sooner than some think.
it would just take 1 guest role and 1 team movie, and after those, by the time of the next sequel she will be very popular and beloved. Even more if she gets her long awaited solo movie, of course. But we'll see what Feige has in store for her.
I would really, *really* hope they never ever touch that storyline with a ten foot vibranium pole. Storm is a wonderful character who deserves some actual effort and attention. . . as part of the X-Men. Not as part of an ill-conceived romance subplot with no basis beyond "What black women do we have to match up BP with?" Especially since T'Challa already has an established love interest in the movies.
Black Panther 2 has so much potential to expand the MCU. Namor, Storm, Doom etc.
They should've had Batman and Superman hidden in shadows for BvS.
And for Justice League, soon it's going to be WW and Aquaman front and centre, and everyone else off in the distance.
