Thor seriously leveled up in both Ragnarok and Infinity War.
His epicness level has increased significantly in comparison to the other movies. Thor, Avengers, Thor: TDW and Avengers: AOU have all had some good stuff sprinkled throughout, but nothing really on the scale of what these last 2 MCU installment have given us...
Here's my Top 5 scenes from the last 2 movies Thor showed up in.
1. Thor unleashes his true power.
This whole scene is epic and the Immigrant Song takes it to another level. From Thor hitting Hela with the biggest lighting bolt ever, to him landing on the bifrost bridge, to the inventive and surprising use of his powers... MCU greatness.
2. Thor arrives on Wakanda.
Best entrance ever in the MCU. When the Avengers where against the ropes and in a dire situation here comes Thor, his friend tree and a sweet rabbit. The Bifrost beaming them in, Stormbreaker cleaning the battlefield, "Bring me Thanos!", the powered up jump with the hovering sound and the strike with Stormbreaker. The scene scored with the Avengers theme. Cinematic history.
3. Thor's talk with Rocket.
The single best bit of acting from CH as Thor. Beautiful written dialogue performed expertly by a grieving Thor. The impact of this moment is massive because we know what he has been through and we understand how much he has lost. A 1500 year old god shedding a tear while trying to make light of his desperate situation. It's a touching, tragic, sad and yet funny scene.
4. Thor escapes Muspelheim.
This whole sequence is absolute gold for us Thor fans. We see Surtur interacting with Thor, the way Mjolnir is used coupled with the expert use of the Immigrant Song makes for some pretty legendary stuff. Then to cap it all of we have the fire dragon chase...
5. Thor awakes his power against the Hulk.
There's no rivalry like this one. We finally saw them facing each other in a arena. After some incredible moves and exchange of blows, Thor is against the ropes until he taps into the source of his power and turns the tables on the fight. "So, ah, you're welcome. And, uh, it's a tie."
