I thought Taskmaster was weak. I'd rather see someone else.
Honestly Taskmaster is such a blank slate by the end of Black Widow they could do anything with her. I would definitely want to see what Olga Kurylenko can bring to the role when given the chance to actually play her with her real personality instead of merely her face being used for a brainwashed drone. It's honestly not hard to see how to make the character much better.
She drops the Dreykov name because her dad was her abuser, is now Antonia "Toni" Masters, master of her own destiny.
Taskmaster and the Widows struggle to reintegrate into society after a life of being brainwashed soldiers. While happy to live their own lives and form personal relationships, many of them still stay in the business of fighting and become mercenaries. We already saw one of the widows becoming an illegal cage fighter in Macau.
Taskmaster finds purpose training others in her "academy"
It is reiterated that her photographic reflexes are her own skill, while the helmet's HUD is essentially just mission intel + a targeting system like Fallout's V.A.T.S. Essentially, she can copy other peoples' moves perfectly, the helmet is just an extra aid. Hence why she had to personally watch the fight footage. As Dreykov said in BW: "She watches everything and she can do it. She is a perfect mimic".
After finally being freed from the mindcontrol she starts speaking much more and develops a personality much closer to comics Taskmaster
Besides her physical scars, the main lasting problem from her time as Dreykov's puppet is that while she can perfectly remember peoples' moves, she struggles with some memory loss as a consequence of the explosion and subsequent brainwashing.
There. Actual taskmaster.
