MCU vs thread....controversy and chaos

Tony switched between armors in the climax of Iron Man 3 while fighting a bunch of super powered maniacs, his out of armor self showed he can fight really well for a guy who suffered sleep deprivation for days.

Also, his armor in Avengers managed to be charged by lightning.

In Civil War Tony was tense and not fully focused, but he beat Bucky and gave Steve a hard time.

Bleeding armor is able to endure harder punishment, and the gif @Stormborn provided show him enduring a hit from Mjolnir while taking a beating from Thanos.

Tony will at least be a lasting match for worthy Cap and extend the fight for a good while, even if he does lose.

My friend I disagree.

I think you are overeating Tony's fighting skills.

In the Iron Man armour Tony is much more durable ( he can take shots from a tank, neither of them is bulletproof) , he's much stronger and carries far more firepower than Cap and Bucky put together. That they manage to disable him without dying in the process shows just how much more skilled they are than he is.

Tony defeated Bucky by redirecting his repulsor blast through his chest projector, clever but more about the power of his armour.

Tony was getting pummeled by Cap until he used his onboard computer to analyze Cap's fighting pattern and come up with counter measures. A momentary distraction then allowed Cap to completely dominate and disable Tony.

While Tony survives a hit from Mjolnir it momentarily stuns him. Thunder Cap would follow that up with other strikes and soon Tony's armour is in bits. Once the armour is disabled Tony has zero chance against even ordinary Cap.

Tony's only hope is that Cap uses lightning, which charges him up enough to somehow overpower Cap - I can't see that happening too often. I see this fight as a slam dunk for Cap.

Ah well, agree to disagreeI suppose. Cheers.

Iron Man Bleeding Edge Armour gets my vote for the win

1. Lightning just charges him up.

Pretty self explanatory

2. Only really needs to land once

This is all the way back in Avengers 1. Now I know Cap has the shield and the hammer but I just think if Tony launches a similar projectile attack at Cap there is surely no way he can block all of them at once and we know he has versions of them on the new suit

3. He can defend against Mjolnir

If it can even temporarily stand up to the power stone im guessing its gonna hold up (for at least a while) against Mjolnir.

So are you guys presuming Cap "possessing the power of Thor" means he only gained Thor's hammer, strength and lightning?

Or are you assuming he also gained Thor's durability and healing factor?

Because if he's got Thor's durability then frankly, none of those missiles @jolldan just posted about are going to do any damage.

Personally I think Cap wins either way but if it's the latter then he wins 10/10.

Bleeding armor is able to endure harder punishment, and the gif @Stormborn provided show him enduring a hit from Mjolnir while taking a beating from Thanos.

Except Thanos didn't hit Tony in that fight, he just grabbed him and held him in front of Mjolnir. The hit from the hammer alone was enough to KO him.

Just going by how I interpreted the fight.

I never thought he gained those three as well or if he did I never quite got to what degree because Thanos stabbed him in the leg and it did damage. He's also visibly tired (although this could be chalked up to him being more distraught at that point him thinking it was the end) just before Sam does the whole "on your left" bit. Healing factor I know he already has with the serum and don't know if its stated as having increased greatly like I know he runs in the charge but I put that more down to Cap just being hard as nails (I mean we've seen him fight in CAWS after being stabbed multiple times).

Have seen some examples of saying the spinning of the hammer just before he hits Thanos was a strength feat and im not saying it wasn't I just put that down to it being the magic of the hammer, like its been said the hammer doesn't follow any rules of physics so I never assumed that once someone was worthy of it they would then need correlating strength to wield it in that way if that makes sense.

Either way I think its relatively close fight.

We tried fellas. I voted for Tony but he falls 4-3. Damn you Incali, Batmannerism, Bayne, and Stormborn! :argh:
Anyway next up:

Call on Docker1.0 and vote twice. Have you no creativity?

Dormammu. :oldrazz:

All I really know about Door Mouse guy aside from being powerful extradimensional force in the MCU is that he's not immune to the power of the time stone.

I honestly don't see how this is even answerable. Do we actually have any real information at all on what Dormammu is capable of when acting directly other than the simple fact that he's a universe level threat and bound by time?

Also from Hela's side - is Asgard safe or not? Because if it is, can Hela even be beaten at all? And if it isn't, she doesn't really live up to being a universe level threat in the first place.

I have to go with Dormammu.

No real reason these are two stupidly OP characters and I think its just a case of pick your poison here and the line "Hela draws her power from Asgard itself." Is interesting to consider.

So if we are going by most up to date version of the MCU Asgard is destroyed and we never got to see what her power level was like after this or if she even survived.

Basically for my money Hela has conceivable limits although we never really seen them while Dormammu has more inconveniences with the likes of Strange and the time loop.

Personally, I never bought into the whole "Hela needs to be on Asgard in order to be her most powerful" idea. Like, the most impressive thing she did in the whole movie (destroying Mjolnir) was done while she was on Earth.

Personally I think Taika threw those lines in there without really understanding their full implications. A bit like when Odin says that Thor is "stronger" than him even though that is clearly not the case.

And didn't Odin and Valkyrie both say that Thor draws his power from Asgard as well? Which doesn't make a lot of sense, given that most people regard Thor in Infinity War as the most powerful he has ever been. And that was AFTER Asgard was destroyed.

I still think she loses to Dormammu though. I don't see how her blades can hurt him.

Yeah in terms of strength you are probably right. I just think they also seeded it as her clothes were ripped on Earth but appeared to repair on Asgard.

Can't recall that though you could easy be right.

Yeah that probably my main reason as I can't see a way where she can actually do damage to him. Where as she at the very least was very concerned with Surtur Prime.

Hela's power is immense - she crushed Mjolnir when at her weakest.

However, Dormammu is a whole different level - she's a goddess, but in the Dark Dimension he's God, more so than the comic book version. I dont think Hela has the power to defeat him - maybe Thanos with all six stones, but otherwise Dormammu is probably the most powerful being we've seen in the MCU. Strange could not defeat or overpower him, but merely stalemate him with the time stone.

So Dormammu for the win.

Hela is extremely powerful but she can be hurt. Thor's lightning stunned her and Surtur's destruction of Asgard defeated her (although I'm not sure if it killed her).

MCU Dormammu is on another level. The guy's a living dimension who invades other dimensions/steals planets as a hobby. Hela obviously doesn't have the time stone to trap/irritate Dormammu with and as far as we know there's no way to hurt him with swords or giant spikes.

Dormammu wins.

Looks like we're going to need about 10 iterations of Doc if we're going to get the controversy we deserve.

As my daughter would say "Y'know, I, like, think that Dormammu is just, like, y'know, too magicky and stuff".

Agree with all the above. Hela is as close to all powerful as humanoids get but Dormammu is beyond all that.

You guys suck. :csad: Dormammu wins. Next up:

vs Thanos with the gauntlet
giphy.gif

Who you got peeps?

Let me see if I've got this right....the guy who starts these conversations thinks the people who try to shield him from public humiliation thinks WE suck?

Dormammu. Because he's like all magicky and Thanos just snaps his fingers. I mean, like, hey, my DOG doesn't even pay attention when someone snaps their fingers. Dormammu would just like go "Hey dude. Don't even think about snapping your fingers at me because I'm not even IN your universe. OK? I'll take YOUR universe and stick it right up a black hole. So don't even mess."

Thanos with the gauntlet is way more than the snap. I think if he focuses on Dormammu, he could beat him.

Jill!!! Chill out and get off my computer. How many times have I warned you about stealing my passwords?

Sorry folks. And my most humble apologies to any harsh words she directed towards Doc.

Thanos wins or this is a draw. Dr. Strange took him to a draw with the time stone, but I don't think Thanos can kill Dormammu.
