O, I missed Frank did he die or something in the time between the second movie and this? It was never explained.

I actually missed Jeebs more than I missed Frank. He was the only good part about the second one. And while there was no David Cross cameo this time around, I did like seeing [BLACKOUT]Will Arnett[/BLACKOUT].

Yeah it feels like it's been ages since I've seen Will Smith in anything at all. Good to see him back doing movies again.

This is has first movie since Seven Pounds, back in 2008.

I definitely enjoyed MIB 3, and Josh Brolin as young K was great. Jemaine Clement made for a great villain, silly and menacing at the same time. Him imitating the hippies' laughter was hilarious.

And I really liked Michael Stuhlbarg (Boardwalk Empire, A Serious Man), as the alien who could see all possible futures simultaneously.

wtf? i thought some dude was lying. wow, thanks for spoiling it.

Why are you getting mad at Dark? YOU just spoiled the twisted ending for everyone with your previous post Hit Girl. You should really edit your post and put it in spoiler tags if it's not to late.

Hit-Girl knew what he/she was doing. Just delete the post, mods.

Anyone else notice that K was eating shawarma in the beginning? First Avengers, now MIB...if TDKR doesn't include a scene where Batman takes Catwoman out for some shawarma then I'll be sorely disappointed.

maybe the fallafle guy can get into a fight with a shawarma guy
when the sh** hits the fan in the gotham.

Did they ever explain what happened to Zed?

he died before the events of the movie, emma thompson replaces him as the head of the MIB

The movie was better than I expected. It's a large improvement after MIB2.

I found the ending to be touching. It made the whole time-travel angle worth it.

I watched it last night. I give it a 7. It had its moments, some of them really great. Overall it was fine, not great but it was interesting and entertaining.

Some of the high points:

- Josh Brolin as Agent K: He was spot on, I enjoyed watching his performance. It was like half of the budget was spent on de-aging Tommy Lee Jones to play his younger self! But seriously, Brolin was great.

- The interactions between K and J: It was refreshing to see more development to their relationship. It felt like a real step forward from what we have seen before.

- Griffin the alien: I liked his character more than I should have. He gave some gravity to the situation and added to the heart of the movie. I specially dug his speech at the baseball stadium.

- The ending: It was touching like all of you said. It kinda bringed things to full circle. Having young agent K softening the hit of the death J's father and walking him to the beach was really sweet.

Some low points:

- I thought the pace of the movie was uneven. At the beginning it was a little slower than I expected. And the part at the fashion parade lasted forever. I'm don't know a lot about art or Andy Warhol, but I didn't get it most of that scene, I guess it wasn't my cup of tea. And the ending happened a little too quick. I wish they would have introduced us to J's father a little earlier so we could care more for his character.

- The time travel: Maybe some of you guys could help me to understand this part. If Boris killed K in the past, shouldn't J be still working as a cop of some sorts in the present. I thought the "chocolate headaches" was a nice touch, but it was only an effect of the time rift.

It didn't explain why he wasn't affected at all. I mean, in Justice League "The Savage Time" they got away with that because most of the team was inside Green Lantern's sphere, so they went unaffected by the changed time. It was a nice "patching". But in MIB 3 I don't recall justifying this. Maybe the MIB recruited J later, but it would be nice a little explanation of this. Also the reason why J remembered K wasn't fully answered. Still it could have been because the two were closely bonded, but that's just me assuming something.

Another thing that bugged me. In the scene when J travels back in time after he's been hit by Boris with his needles along with him...why isn't there a time duplicate of J? And where did Boris went? It felt like a "rewind" time travel, because J took his place before being hit with the needles. But the way the time jump machine worked didn't seemed to support this, since by traveling back in time, Boris met his past self, as J saw himself as a child, not taking his place like in the aforementioned scene.

Maybe someone could clarify that for me.

- And just a few nitpicks: Why in the MIB headquarters of the 60's they have this giant Neuralizer and then in the space shuttle scene young K had this (hilarious by the way) modem neuralizer. It just seemed weird to have to distinct devices that served for the same purpose, but one more practical than another, and not using the best one at first.

- Also, why does young K ask J if he has a girlfriend on the future. I thought the catch of being an MIB agent was that he would have to severe his ties to the world. Not that J and K had not had their own respective girlfriends and all.

But now I'm just nitpicking to much.

Anyway, it was a fine movie. Better than I expected.

Do they ever explain why only J realizes K has disappeared but everyone else just thinks he's been dead for 40 years

i think it was a very funny movie. the 3d was good and again proof that 3D cameras work.i was 100% sure that the movie would be a mess. pacing, editing and a story that doesnt make sense . i think they got lucky.

now that i watched the movie i understand the marketing. its not that kind of comedy where you have an easy job making trailers and tv spots. it was hard to them to sell it.

i also understand why the movie is brighter with more saturated colors compared to the prrevious movies. because of the 3D glasses. when i watched the movie with the 3D glasses it looked like the first movie. they made a good job with the lighting at night. no dark shadows. i watched the 3D prometheus trailer and i am scared watching this in 3D with our 3D technology. it was a big problem with Tron since the movie was a big contrast. dark location with dark shadows and bright lights.

there are a lot reason why this movie got so expensive. one small reason is that they have a lot of deleted scenes with finished cgi effects. the trailer was again on tv and noticed many deleted scenes

One thing I kind of wished had happened was

Having Zed be the head of MiB in the 60's

Also, I wished Alice Eve had a little bit of a bigger role.

i am surpised that they didnt have Frank in the movie. he is this kind of character that is automatic funny no matter what he says. they could have some 30 seconds dialoge with Frank and J. he was on the circus billboard. i dont understand why they showed Frank in J's apartment and on the billboard. they only reminded me that he is a funny character that is missing.

I agree. I would have liked to see [BLACKOUT]Frank[/BLACKOUT], but in a smaller capacity than the second film. Same with [BLACKOUT]Jeebs[/BLACKOUT]. I love that character

MIB 3 needs to be the last movie. J (will smith) character dies at the end and saves the universe . so it should be the last movie. doesnt make sense to have a 4th movie where they bring him back to life.

it is what it is

''reportedly led to big script changes and, depending on who you believe, large segments of the movie were reshot. The aliens that Rick Baker created are almost certainly being replaced with CGI. Will Smith had a set torn down and rebuilt to fit in with an improv he did. The budget is well over 200 million dollars, and I guarantee that's a low, low estimate (although those aforementioned tax breaks will help). ''

now that the movie is out which set was rebuilt?

and happy that Rick Baker's aliens were not replaced with CGI.
