When? 2025? 2030? 2035? I'd rather have a film with some diversity now rather than wait decades. I love Kamala but I'm not holding my breath for her movie and this post just proves how difficult it is to create a new character and make them profitable enough that the studio will invest in a movie.
Well those against a black Torch argument is "he shouldn't be different from the comics"
So naturally every single person against the casting on that principle must also be against the ancient ones casting, otherwise they're a hypocrite.
If said people are okay with that casting then that proves their issue isn't with comic accuracy they're just using that to disguise their real issue.
Yeah I know this. Only ten years after the MCU started too! And they were pushed back for Spider-Man. What's your point exactly? I am excited for these films but its not good enough, unfortunately.Keep in mind this is just a rumor, but Kamala Khan may be the lead in the John Ridley Marvel series currently in development at ABC.
As for diversity in Marvel films, you'll be excited to hear the news that Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the Inhumans are on the way.
MCU Ms Marvel will be Carol Dancers. It was confirmed by Feige.
Dancers? So they are changing her surname because of?
Because Carol is the queen of the dance, obviously. Captain Marvel is going to be the Saturday Night Fever of superhero films

Dean Cain played Supes, and he's multiracial.
The thing is it appears people don't mind secondary characters getting changed from male to female or from white to black etc. But touch any of the mainstream heroes who are traditionally white (spidey, Bats, Supes etc) and you will get ton of hate. I seen posts on another message board where some fan's stating that they would be okay with turning Batman, Superman, and Spidey into gay dudes dudes, but be livid if they were made into minorities. Crazy stuff right there.......
This kinda shows the arbitrariness of reactions when making changes from the source material. Some people say it's an injustice to race or gender swap one character and then let it slide for others. There's no universal rule and it varies from fan to fan, and from character to character. People disliking Jordan's casting because it's not comic accurate better be just as mad about the Tilda Swinton rumour on Doctor Strange, but that isn't the case. Which is why studios simply cannot adhere to fan expectation... because fans are fragmented and divisive and varying.I can see a gay Batman but not a gay Spider-Man or Superman. And there is a black Spider-Man.

I'm not a Doctor Strange fan so it probably won't matter to me that they've changed the Ancient One BUT I tend to lean towards being as faithful to the source as possible. I can understand if people are peeved. People are still having conniptions over what happened to the Mandarin (who was nothing but a racist caricature to begin with). I had heard Watanabe was up for the role of the Ancient One and I thought that would have been cool.
Well he doesn't have to be. In recent years he's become less of a caricature. That said, Killian was pretty faithful to the character of the mandarin. I thought it was pretty genius but I'd much rather have an Asian actor playing him once we get the REAL Mandarin.
I feel the same way about Bane once we get our Batman reboot. Bane should be Hispanic and have the accent to match.
It appears Marvel isn't gonna follow up with The Real Mandarin in the MCU. That one shot was made just to stop all the fanboys who were upset about the Killian switch in IM3 to stop crying about it.
Those one shots are just to fix the errors in all the movies like Stark in Incredible Hulk that whole angle was made up after the fact. Stark wanted Ross on The Avengers to fight Hulk.
Has anyone seen the movie? How do we know it will be terrible? I love how people are writing this movie off simply because they don't like the casting, or director or whatever. People were writing Guardians of the Galaxy off as being a flop or medicore before it even hit theaters last year and we all know how that turned out.
