Apocalypse Michael Fassbender is Magneto!

It's sad but on this forum it's the sorta thing I can imagine people saying and not be joking

I was wondering about Magneto's romantic background for this film.

As much as first Class was a magneto centric film, it jumped mostly from WW2 to the 60s as he tracked Sebastian Shaw.

However, in the comics, after WW2, Magneto fell in love with a woman named Magda and worked in a european town. He had a daughter named Anya. She was killed in a house fire due to the locals preventing him from saving her due to him beating up his boss for not paying him . He used his powers and killed them in front of his wife.

She ran away into the mountains and gave birth to Wanda and Pietro (Scarlet witch and quicksilver).

anyway, Singer implies that Magnus will have a love interest in poland and that he will be there and Apoc will recruit him after some tragedy occurs.

There was a photo of some foreign police officers in a forest, perhaps they are searching for magnus and will cause the deaths of this woman and possible children?

Thoughts?

I think this new woman is reffered as Suzanna in comics. Magneto has 2 love interests in comics: Magda (twins'mom), and later Suzanna (Polaris'mom)

No Magda or Suzanna in movies but MRS Mawimoff and woman in Poland remplace them.
But Magda=european, MAximoff=american(movie)
Suzanna=american, woman in Poland=european

Fassy looks awesome. I think the people who are doing Macbeth are doing this too, and I've heard nothing but good things about that. Not a huge fan of the games, but I'm looking forward to this.

Now, if only certain people out there can hurry up and get that Uncharted movie going...

Amazing!! Hopefully it won't suck like all Video Game movies do

I thought Prince of Persia was the best of the bunch personally. A solid flick, IMO.

I agree about Prince of Persia. It was a descent movie and it probably gets more hate than it deserves. I also agree that it's the best movie based on a video game though it doesn't really say much since all we've gotten so far is pretty much garbage. We still haven't seen a really good adaptation but I think Warcraft and Assassin's Creed have the best chance of making it happen. If they don't do it either I'll probably lose hope forever.

I'm not too up in arms about Warcraft personally cause I never found the game all that interesting. Maybe my mind will change once I see a trailer.

Steve Jobs and Michael's performance in it are getting good reviews. I was really on the fence with this one because he doesn't look remotely like Steve Jobs, but I love the talent involved - Sorkin, Boyle, Kate Winslet etc. Macbeth looks good as well, though I'm not sure I can wrap my head around the Shakespearean language without the subtitles :)

I am almost certain they were not keeping that flashback in mind when they made apocalypse

Michael Fassbender spoke a little about X-Men when he appeared on the Graham Norton Show on Friday (it was repeated tonight).

He said he used his own accent in First Class, studied McKellen for the accent he used in DoFP, and in this next film he uses a mixture of both. Not sure if i like the sound of that mixture....I preferred the accent without too much Irish lilt in it!

He said a while ago that it was gonna be a mixture of the FC and DOFP accent so he probably means the main accent he gave magneto in FC

This is what he said about it
Yeah, exactly. And with Ian McKellan, you know, I was a big fan of his work. He’s a legend. But when we did First Class, [director] Matthew [Vaughn] was saying to me, “I don’t want you to do his accent. I want you to do your own accent.” So we did that. But in the second one, Ian McKellan was going to be in it, so then I went off and studied Ian McKellan’s accent. And then, this one, I’ve just decided to do a kind of hybrid of both of them. (laughs) So you could say, my delivery of Magneto is pretty inconsistent

His main FC accent wasn't Irish though I doubt he is talking about sounding Irish

I liked his accent in DOFP better to be honest. Did a great job getting it close to Ian McKellan. Damn, I would still love to see Young and Old Magneto share a scene with each other.

It's a pity it bombed at the box office.

McKellen and Fassbender have now both played Macbeth.

When it comes to continuity, the X-Men series is a fiasco. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd rather Fox and co. find better ways of spending money such as decent wirework or decent Mystique makeup rather than trying to figure out a way of making the very attractive and popular Michael Fassbender somewhat older than Ian in a subpar movie made years ago on the fly. This isn't like Ant-Man where Michael Douglas has one scene where he has to be de-aged (which they did brilliantly, but it wasn't the entire movie), so yeah.

Plus Erik looks freaking dynamite in 1983 with his new threads.

Do you think Magneto will betray Apocalypse soon in the movie and end up as a good guy/hero ? I hope.

Probably, but if he does he needs to join the X-Men and not go against what they do, otherwise it'll be repetitive of the last two movies. I'll groan if Xavier yells at him "EEEERIKK!" before Magneto does something he does not approve of in the name of "mutantkind".

Yep, Xavier talked about reunite everybody a day at the end of days of future past, so for me, it seems legit that Magneto will join the x-men at some point and become friend with Charles again, not like the original trilogy.

(sorry for my bad english)

I don't think they will become friends again, I think they will leave on good terms but they will still disagree with each other's beliefs about mutants and That will stop them from fully recovering that friendship
