LOL.t: He's serious actor now though. I can imagine hearing "Did I do that" or "Look what you did" after Urkal blew up nearly half of Gotham City. But anywho, I'm glad the role of Gamble went to a proffesional rather than some wanna' be gangster/rapper/ect.

I think Michael could've been an excellent Spawn if the material was written better. With the technology that's available now, I think it's safe to say that if Spawn happened again, it'd be an amazing pleasure to see him give another crack at it.

But I like this casting. He's not a bad actor by any means and he'll most likely have a small role anyways.

People have a right to their opinion. Mos Def, Ice Cube, and Will Smith are the only good actors that were/are rappers. David Banner shouldn't have even been considered for the film at all.

I stopped taking most folks opinion seriously on here when I seen that they base their decision on how well a female actor will be for a part based primarily on how hot she is.

Good choice though, I'm indifferent about this seeing as how it really isn't a huge role, and I'm sure he'll more than get the job done.

Well, there was Fox, then they took a white comic book character and made him black for Loeb, that's 2, and now have created a black character (along with a black gang) for 3+.

And considering that the United States is only 10% black, I'd say they're actually ahead of the average. If anything, the Latino (who now have the Mayor of Gotham, and potentially Montoya) or the Asian (who seem to be stuck with an accountant) communities would be more shocked by the lack of representation.

Pfft look how many blacks were in Superman Returns, Spiderman, and X-Men movies. Virtually none. The only black person with a somewhat important role was Robbie in Spiderman.

Batman not only has more blacks but we're all in prominent positions. Kudos to Nolan on that.

Michael Jai White hasn't been in really good films, but he is a good martial artist and plays a really good bad guy. And I'm probably one of the few who actually liked the "Spawn" movie. I thought Michael kicked ass as Al Simmons, it was John Leguizamo's over-the-top freakshow-Clown that ruined the movie for me.

And it's better than casting David Banner or Ja Rule or Mike Jones or some other rapper.

agreed mostly. I have the Spawn film on DVD and enjoy it very much, infact, it's 3 am and I'm currently in the process of watching it. I personally thought it was excellent, (I'm not hard to please, like most of the people on this board) and am eagerly awaiting a sequel should they ever make one. I was just watching the movie with one of my buddies the other day and we both agree that if done right, a Spawn/Batman film would be sick.

and yea, the only way hip hop artist's work in movies is if they make their own. A la 2Pac's films, Eminems "8 Mile" etc. Whenever you have a rapper make a cameo or guest role a la "Halloween Ressurection" it just turns to crap. So a big ol' HELL NO on Banner or any other rapper making an appearance in TDK, would ruin it.
