The Amazing Spider-Man Michael Papajohn Returning for Spider-Man 4?

who the heck really wants this guy playing a villain...i think itd be a disaster
Some people seem to be puting way to much into this guy's comments. All of a sudden some people thinks he is Electro or Chameleon. What a joke.

I hope to God he doesnt return to the Spiderman movies, let alone alive. That story is over and done with, let it go and lets get some new stories to look forward too.

I too hope Papajohn doesn't come back, let alone as a villan. That would mean that every villan to date has seen Peter Parkers face as know he's Spiderman. GG1 knew, GG2knew, Doc Ock found out, Sandman saw his face, and Venom knew. I find it pretty ridiculous that every Spiderman villan to date has seen Spiderman face.

What's the point of wearing a frickin mask to begin with if every villan has seen him unmasked....?

Doesn't really matter because I don't think they have any intention of bringing those villains back. Sandman will probably just be ignored in the next film.

Well, it's rumored that he returns as a villain. Raimi has this notion that every villain must somehow be connected to Parkers personal life (which is ridiculous cause NY is a big place, full of millions of ppl and it's quite fathomable that he may encounter a villan/person who has never met Peter Parker before). If Papajohn does return as a villain, Spidey unmasked himself during there confrontation, thus yet another villain has seen Spiderman unmasked.

He is Aunt Carnage.

AWESOME!!! :wow:

I think, if The Lizard is the villain in this film, Peter would probably have a nightmare with The Burglar and Flint Marko "killing" Uncle Ben and Venom killing Harry because he feels like he is loosing his friends and his loved ones one by one. Maybe?

I haven't heard of any rumor regarding Sandman. And I am not putting much stock in this Papajohn as a villain. I think people has put way to much into his return. I think they are simply screwing around with past events again and has a few scenes to film and nothing more.

It could just be another flashback like the third movie you know.

How would you feel if we find out that Carradine survived the fall, not a villain; but, tells a villain, that Spiderman is the Bugle's photographer Peter Parker. How would you feel?

I'd never trust Raimi with a Spider-Man movie again.

Yes, because he also brought SM1 and SM2 so because of one not so great film, you don't trust him? He had no creative control for God's sake. Producers were shoving new character down his throat when he wanted more of a contained story.

It's true that Raimi had only little control on Spiderman 3, but all singing and dancing, emo, Venom being in the movie for 5 minutes and die, Sandman being a totally pointless villain, Harry Osborn as Rocker Racer..I stille blame Raimi for all those.

Maybe they will go the route of the new cartoon show and make him the burgular Felcia's father

If Mysterio is the villain in this film and he is played by Bruce Campbell(it will be epic win IMO), imagine that all the cameos that he had in the other 3 films were the same character, Quentin Beck, I mean, the line he had in Spider-Man 2 "it helps maintain the illusion" seems like a Mysterio reference to me. :woot:

Perhaps Papajohn's character could have some connection to him. Maybe he knew Beck or something and wanted money from him because he was helping Flint. I don't know. I suppouse it's very unnecessary to do so but then again, bringing back this guy is still unnecessary. This idea might be a tolerable solution for him to return to this franchise.

But you know, we don't need to know more about this guy. He isin't Uncle Ben's killer, ok, so let's give it a rest shall we? Why bring him back? Why can't we leave Uncle Ben alone? We simply don't care about this guy. If they really wanted to bring an old character back, why not The Green Goblin or Doc Ock? What makes Papajohn's character so special now when he is just useless?

Probably because his heart wasn't really into Venom so he did it for his liking. Though i didn't mind Harry's costume. i didn't want to see the same Goblin suit again.

I blame almost everything on him. He wrote the freakin story. He had an absolute mount of control. The execution was bad.

I disagree... Sam had control over more than you think. Eddie/Venom and Gwen was the only thing pressed. It was Sam's idea to half-arse Venom, not Avi Arad.... to write a lame story and motivation for Eddie/Venom, to give Gwen such a useless role, and everything else involved with the story; including the crying, dancing, and ******ation. Don't discount Sam's role in this film; and, don't expect any better in the next.

I guess youre right.
However, if Avi Arad didnt push Sam Raimi to use Venom and the whole symbiote storyline, the movie would've a whole lot better(no dancing, singing, emo)
But then again, Harry Osborn being Rocket Racer is just unforgivable. (Assuming that it was Raimi's decision to make him a Rocker Racer)

Push? Oh no. They talked, Raimi accepted. He could've refused.

Harry was one of the few things I liked in the movie and think it was done well, besides the amnesia, though I like the previous glider more.

He simply didn't want Harry using the same equipment or wearing a similar Goblin costume like his father. So they decided to change it since his primary goal was revenge on Peter and nothing more.
