Homecoming Micheal Keaton IS The Vulture

He is wearing street clothes. I mean, hopefully it will grow on me.

To be honest, we knew he wasn't going to be wearing a green, striped leotard.

It's not my favorite look, maybe it's not even final, but hopefully we do see a few comic book-y elements incorporated by the end credits.

I understand that but it could have looked slightly more accurate to the comics. I also don't think the helmet is nessesery.

Thank you!! Does not look like Vulture to me at all.

Not disagreeing, but I don't absolutely hate it with the fiery passion of a thousand suns or anything. Better than the last Goblin. (not that that should be a standard or anything).

I'm hopeful it will look better in action.

Can we update the title now Feige confirmed Keaton is the Vulture?

Thanks for the update. Those stupid arguments can end now.

I still can't believe some people actually thought Keaton would be playing Norman. Norman should be played by an actor that's in his late 30s/early to mid 40s. Keaton is half a decade away from being 70 years old. Vulture is the only villain role that makes sense for him age wise. He's too old to play Norman long term.

Exactly what they were...stupid.

Exactly. I could maybe see people saying he's not Vulture if there was another actor who could possibly be playing Toomes, but Keaton was the only cast member who could be playing him. It wasn't going to be someone who was 30-40 years old and nobody else around Keaton's age was added.

I think Norman could easily be played by someone in their late 40s to early 50s, but anybody above 55 today would really be pushing it IMO.

I liked the last Goblin look (as well as Electro and Lizard), but I understood and got any/every reason why people wouldn't. I also appreciated the fact that they tried to have the last Green Goblin be a true transformation as opposed to PR villain mask or cheap prosthetics.

That said, I do find it..interesting how the usual suspects who hated Lizard, Electro and Gobby's designs (Goomba, Mr. Freeze and Methhead respectively) yet have nothing but praise for this Vulture design. I know why (given their claims), but it really is interesting.

:cwink:

To me, though, this just doesn't feel like Vulture in any way. I at least recognized some aspects of the last three previous villains. Take away the wings and the green and I'd think it's a random bank robber or something -- which may be the point (given that's Vulture's thing) but still.

I never advocated for the unitard which is a common misconception, but I've always wanted something closer. At least more green and maskless. That's Vulture's thing -- his age is a factor and therefore it should show.

THANK. YOU.

No more ridiculous theories about Keaton not being the Vulture. Now, whether he may be playing Adrian or Blackie is a different thing entirely. Either way, he is Vulture.

Preach it.

I've said for months Norman should be late 30s-40s and Keaton would've been a great pick 10-15 years ago.

It's good to finally have confirmation to what we all knew. Can't wait to see more!

Yeah, that's the truly baffling thing. That all of Sony's villain designs look closer to their comic-counterpart than this design which looks NOTHING like any version of the Vulture. Yet this design is getting widespread praise for the same reason people hated those designs.

Let's hope they kept some of Toomes personality traits at the very least so he's not Vulture In Name Only.

I'm not a fan of the street clothes on the new concept art, but these wings are WAY better than the giant contraption from the original art. I'd love to get THAT suit with THESE wings, that would be ideal for me.

Now we wait for the trailer... There hasn't been any set pics of Keaton has there?

Now the thing is, how much of an edge will this suit give him over a kid that can lift about 10 tons? It's gotta be pretty ****ing durable and give him superhuman strength, a la the original comic version.

Guess we'll see.

But its the same outfit in both..the wingspan is just smaller

I like the look. It has greenish pants, the white tuft around the collar, and interesting wings, all of which call back to the comic look at least. I like the bomber jacket; it helps show his age. The helmet is hard to say for now - the image is too low quality to make out any details - but I'm not against it at all. He's an old man flying around on jet wings; having a helmet and mask for air makes complete sense, but anyone who thinks Keaton will wear if for more than a few scenes is just being silly.

Looks a whole lot better then the earlier version we saw , and I'm sure we'll see plenty of Keaton without the helmet

The wings are completely different , and no exoskeleton

Well, the wings being smaller (same design, even has the little spinning disks in them) and the lack of Exo-skeleton (even though he still has talons) are relegated to it being 2 inch soda topper with little details.

It's the same general design overall.

With 1 piece of concept art vs a "figure," it's a little hard to get a sharp idea of what the character will look like on film in terms of fine details. But we have a general idea and it will be easier to judge once we have a trailer or footage.

Personally, the classic vulture design is probably hard to pull off on screen. I'm sure they considered it at one point, but in the MCU they try to find practical reasons for why a character looks a certain way. It looks almost as if Vulture is a former pilot of some sort?

Also, I wonder if the mask will retract at all. I don't think Marvel/Sony would want to hide Keaton's face in the movie.

Even if they did consider the classic look, there's ways of pulling it off (or something akin to it) without making it look ridiculous or doing a complete overhaul of the design.

Heck, I even liked the suggestion of Vulture sporting Falcon tech (by being the original creator of it).

The main thing is the turbines in his wings which is what I think are getting a ton of people going. I don't have a problem with the exoskeleton considering he's an old man. Perhaps the turbines are just for when he's stationary in the air so he doesn't need to keep flapping? I don't know, but I trust Marvel and Sony to make him a cool villain, especially with Keaton.
