Microchip

What did everyone think of Micro's line in the teaser?, I think my support for Micro has strengthened a little...there was a line spoken by him along the lines of 'you're fighting a war' that came across so well. I haven't read any versions of the script, but going off what little we have, I think his role could be very interesting in this film.

Does anyone who read the script have any idea of how Micro comes across in the film? It'd be very easy to screw him up I reckon.

Micro's part is kinda small but oddly enough it was one of the better things in the script and kinda hope they expanded it a little bit. His little arc has a nice all be it sad conclusion.

I thought "you're fighting a war" sounded like it was probably Colin Salmon's voice.

No it's Micro, the full line of dialogue goes:

MICRO (CONT’D)
You’re fighting a war -- against the
*******s who slip through the raindrops.
The ones who get away with it.
In any
war there’s going to be collateral
damage. You know that.

It doesn't really sound like him though. So maybe the VO in the trailer is different.

I thought it sounded kind of like him when I watched the trailer a few times. He has lost a lot of weight, so his voice should sound different... plus, I'm sure he's not sounding like Newman in any way in this movie.

He's lost a lot of weight, but he put some back on.

That's relatively what he looks like today, I believe. Way smaller than Newman/Dennis Nedry/early 90s days, but smaller than the picture that's up a few pages back.

His voice probably sounds different because that's his dark, serious, determined voice, as opposed to his over-the-top character in Seinfeld. He's a great actor though, I can't wait to see how he does.

I have high hopes for him. I'm sure that since he's never really done anything serious he will kind of make a name for himself outside of Seinfeld and Jurassic Park type roles he's done.

I think Wayne read The Slavers.

Haha! Where is he there? His closet? The Slavers is totally an amazing TPB. It doesn't feel like it could be a movie though. Maybe just that the source material is so grim.

Ooh... The Slavers left an impact on Wayne? Wow.

I hope Punisher opens the door to his lair in the movie, and sees Microchip Standing there.

"Hello, Microchip."

"Hello, Frank." *Both glare*

This will be a really great chance for him to show off a serious role, as you're saying Screams. Heath Ledger showed off his serious acting chops in a small independent-ish film (Not Brokeback) that's name escapes me before getting into TDK. People aren't going to remember him for that, but it perhaps showed he was capable of taking on a larger role, and helped reinvent him from a fluffy, teen romantic movie kind of guy.

Maybe the same will work out for Wayne Knight.

I'm verrrrrrrry skeptical of this casting choice, but we shall see.

He needs to say that word for word to the punisher to make this movie epic

just realized that was posted already.

anyway, i'm sure he can break past the stereotypes.

I hope the movie has this line in full.

I hope he's only in this film to be killed by Frank in the sequel, which will hopefully be an adaptation of sorts of "In the Beginning."

This movie is basically a bastardization of "In the Beginning". It also culls Maginity from "Kitchen Irish" (he's a wasted character) and the Bulats from "Slavers".

^^^How do you know this? Didn't you read the script (or am I thinking of someone else?)
