Netflix Orders ‘Midnight Mass’ Series From Mike Flanagan & Trevor Macy – Deadline

The seven-episode Midnight Mass follows an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events — and frightening omens — after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest. Flanagan will direct and serve as an executive producer alongside Macy. The project has no relation to the Midnight, Mass Vertigo comics.

That synopsis is very intriguing. For those in the know MIDNIGHT MASS is a bit of a Stephen King-esque "in-joke" in the Flanagan-verse as its name has showed up in a couple of his films (I believe it is a book seen both in HUSH and GERALD'S GAME) and now hearing the basic premise of the story and the fact that it's going to be a limited series on Netflix, yeah, I am super pumped.

A friend of mine pointed out that the premise sounds a bit like THE VISITATION but that movie was so awful, I don't think it hurts to have something else that will hopefully be much better treading somewhat similar ground.
