Midnight Mass - Mike Flanagan Sets Next Netflix Series

I hope so. Bly Manor suffered with multiple directors IMO.

Yes, Flanagan directed the whole thing.

Which is good. But I will say that Liam Gavin and Axelle Carolyn directed my favorite episodes of Bly.

What a tragedy that was. And after all this time!

It was. I don't even think the CBS show was altogether terrible, it just fell so short of what it could have been if someone like Flanagan had helmed it. It legit bums me out to think about it, haha.

This is simply too many mother****ers who have seen this show before me. I’m not having it.

Managed to snag one of the Wednesday screening spots. Stoked.

Binged the whole thing. Absolutely fantastic! Flanagan is just that damn good. Very complex, and incredibly emotional, all the things we expect from the master himself. And of course, incredibly creepy and unsettling at times too.

Flanagan has officially become a director who’s work is a must see for me. This show is absolutely mesmerizing with outstanding performances all around. Can’t wait to see what he releases next and wish that he and Darabont were the only 2 people allowed to adapt Stephen King books because this show feels like a perfect adaptation of a King novel, even though it’s not one.

As long as this is better than Bly Manor, which I thought was mostly boring, I'll definitely check this out. To anyone who's seen it, how does it compare to Hill House?

Watched the first two episodes Wednesday but they were so rich in character and detail I had to start over again this morning.

Flanagan on some King ish.

Sounds like something I need to check out. :)

It’s not straight horror like Hill House is, but it’s just as well written and maybe even better than Hill House.
Thats disappointing. Hill house was more of a drama than straight horror most of the time.

I watched the first 3 episodes... if you liked Hill House, you'll like this. I wasn't sure about it after the first episode, but just keep watching... So far I can say it's better than Bly Manor, which I also thought was boring.

I wouldn't call Hill House straight horror, but I think this is similar. Maybe just at a slower pace. (I haven't seen everything yet though)

This show is straight up amazing and on par with Hill House if not better and leauges above Bly Manor. It's easily the darkest and most emotional thing Flanagan has ever made and I loved every minute of it.

Such a compelling mix of religious and gothic horror which I am a huge fan of anyways so this was right up my alley not to mention the engrossing character drama anchored by some really fantastic, authentic performances.

It was great seeing so many familar faces from Flanagan's past work, but for me personally Zach Gilford, Hamish Linklater, Samantha Sloyan and Kate Siegel stole show and deserve awards recogintion IMO.

Flanagan really tapped into his inner Stephen King here and completely knocked it out of the park and my god can I not wait to see what that brilliant, beast of a man does next.

Yeah I'd go as far to say that this is his best work yet honestly. It's even better than Hill House and I've found myself thinking about it even a day after finishing it. This one has been haunting my soul for the past 24 hours haha

About to rewatch Gerald's Game. Been a couple of years! But since I'm in a Flanagan mood, I'd like to revisit one of my favorites. As far as I'm concerned, at this point I'll watch anything directed by Mike Flanagan or Robert Eggers
