Apocalypse Mighty as a hurricane, Gentle as the summer rain. Alexandra Shipp is Storm - Part 4

Kelsey was just amazing as Beast! :ilv: If only they would bring him back again.

yes hes much better than Nicholas. does anyone know if they can include Storm in an Avengers movie since she's been a part of that team before. I would settle with then calling her Ororo or Rain or something else as long as they did her right which I know they would

She's an X-men character so no. Being an Avenger in the books has no bearing on the licensing deals bc if that were the case, Marvel would just go and make every FOX character an Avenger and be done with it. She's definitely not one of those gray area characters like Quicksilver. Her status with the X-men franchise is pretty undeniable

and yet. you do nothing to save your idol when she's being choked to death. :o

That would have been the best part for Storm to go against Apocalypse. But Singer made her just hide and do nothing until Jean uses her Phoenix powers.

Shipp did a fine job with what she was given.I loved the displays of power and the accent (hope they keep that).

Storm as character though did feel underused and underdeveloped. Especially when compared to the subplot given her fellow horseman Magneto. It would have been nice to learn her background, her motivations for stealing etc.

As someone else said, she's not even mentioned by name.X1 is i think the only movie where she's called Ororo.

While Storm may have more screentime than Psylocke, Psylocke at least had 2 shining moments: slicing the car and using her psyblade as she goes down the building.

Shipp/Storm!

how sad she doesnt form a relationship with anyone in this film besides Apocalypse and even that is weak at best. I cant recall but did she even interact with Jean or Scott outside of trying to blast them?

Indeed. :(

Yeah, it's too bad that even if they recon the origins in the comics, Marvel still cannot use any mutants in the MCU. I'd love to see Storm in the BP movie but it's not going to happen.

Marvel can use mutant characters in the MCU. They cant use X-men characters. A mutant isnt automatically an X-men character

Yeah, they'd have to be gifted some other way or Inhuman.

I am very concerned that Storm, a classified omega level mutant has yet to really unleash her full potential in live action. She should be creating malestroms and ****.

When did she get classified?

It was in one of the Marvel stats things, where Iceman is now omega level as well.

Nevr mind, she's alpha level according to the marvel wiki. :o

none of that even matters bc the comics arent canon to the films. With that said, she displayed more power here than any of the other previous films. It helped that she got a power boost from Apocalypse.

They still nerf her to an insane degree, which makes sense if you don't wana deus ex machina, but it's still an excuse.

What? She most certainly did NOT display more power in XA than in previous films. In X2 alone she created a horde of tornadoes, blizzards, lightning strikes, a miniature hurricane, etc. In X3 she did more, including making herself a human tornado. In DOFP she created what appeared to be a mile-wide gale force wind storm.

All she did in XA was lift up a car with wind and throw it at people. In fact, I would argue that she actually did less in XA with her powers than any of the previous films.

I totally agree with this. To me she did less. But she seems skilled at channeling Lightning thru her body. Which was nice to see. But for her powers to be so AMPTED up, her display was very simple.

He AMPTED up her hayah.

Im glad we only got a quick glimpse of that outfit because I hate it. Her horseman outfit was a lot better.

If Psylocke can walk around with her ass and thighs hanging out for the whole damn movie, is there a specific reason why Storm's classic black/white/gold costume (with the thigh high boots, etc.) isn't being used? Why can't she show skin? Why are they so hell-bent on downplaying this woman's physique and sexuality? Is it because she's black? They had one of Hollywood's most beautiful actresses playing Storm last time and they covered her up too. Rebecca Romijn even showed wobbly cheek.

It's such a dumb, double standard. :down

You cannot possibly be serious with that comment
