I said better villain, not best villain. In terms of villains, I'd rank them:

1. MI:III
2. MI: RN.
3. MI.
4. MI: GP.
5. MI:II

I wasn't arguing with you. It was just a statement. I was going to say it regardless of what you said, anyway.

Would you be fine with Ethan Hunt being the bad guy in a reboot of the film series, especially if he's played by an a-hole actor?

Abso****inglutely. Especially if he's played by Tom Cruise to serve as a passing of the torch to the next protagonist of the series. Tom Cruise as a charmingly villainous Ethan Hunt would be incredible.

You only have to see Collateral to get a sense of what a villain Tom Cruise could be like.

I don't think I'd be a fan of Cruise himself actually playing "Hunt-Gone-Bad." I think that's why it worked in M:I... they didn't have Peter Graves playing Phelps. If they did, I would probably have hated it the way a lot of others did. Interesting that they actually offered the part to him though. Never knew they did that.

He'd have to be out of his mind or desperate for money to accept that offer.

They could get Daniel Radcliffe as an even shorter version of Ethan Hunt. Not only does he turn bad but he even loses a few inches while he's at it. :o

Didn't know Radcliffe was so short. Looks like we've found the next big screen Wolverine, folks. And if they are really smart the producers will replace his claws with wands.

These days if he's just having a casual conversation with Emma Watson, she probably has to tell him "my eyes are up here!" :o

Sian Brooke, known for her turn as Sherlock Holmes’ sister on BBC’s “Sherlock,” has landed a key role in the next installment in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise starring Tom Cruise.

Vanessa Kirby (“The Crown”) and Henry Cavill have also joined the cast. Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner are also expected to return, though it’s unknown in what capacity.

Christopher McQuarrie, who directed “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” is back to direct this sixth film from a script he wrote.

It is unknown what Brooke’s role is, and plot details are also being kept under wraps at this time. Production is expected to start in the spring.

Could she be.....a female villain?

:o

These new cast members are all English. Could this be heavily U.K. based? Are they working with a English IMF?

Well we know 2 locations they will be filming majority of the movie in which is Paris and London.

Part's of Rogue Nation was in London wasn't it? And also the first Mission Impossible.

Unbelievable in the sense that it was unbelievable that they would resort to that kind of crude interrogation which was so ineffective when the TV series would never have even bothered with that. They would've tricked the person into revealing the information via some elaborate ploy where the target wouldn't even realise he's been manipulated into giving away the information.

The way Tom Cruise interrogated PSH was exactly the way that interrogators would interrogate the target and would typically fail. Then at that point the IMF would be called in to get the job done more effectively.
I wasn't referring to the plane interrogation. I was referring to the amazing opening scene, which is revisited again later in the film.

That was a great scene. Especially after John Woo made Ethan into a superhero. It's like oh **** this job can suck.

Jeremy Renner won't be in the movie due to his commitments to Marvel.

I'm okay with that. Get another woman in there in his place.

I like Renner as an actor but he really didnt add much to this franchise. His character wasnt really that well developed or given much to do so no big loss I guess.

Well just because he's not in this one doesn't mean he'll never show up again. As far as character development...are any of the supporting characters all that well developed?

Cruise gonna do some crazy s***, that's guaranteed at least. I'm always there for M:I.

Maybe Henry Cavill is taking Renner's place on this mission rather than being the villain.

After all, he doesn't have any commitments to DC/WB because he doesn't have much of a role anyway. :o

That's a good point because Renner has one more MI film left in his contract.
He will return someday, just not this time.
