Looks like someone got a booster seat!

So they're the taking the serialized approach further.
I don't know about this one. I really liked Jack Reacher, so I was looking forward to Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie teaming up on Ghost Protocol, but aside from some scenes and ideas, I found it to be rather dull and disappointing.

McQarrie and Cruise teamed up for Rogue Nation, not Ghost Protocol.

Maybe Cavill is playing against type as a real rough around the edges character ( even his fisherman Superman was pretty gentle).

He looks like the British version of a young Tom Selleck.

Still very excited about this movie - and think Cavill will be a welcome addition.

Really looking forward to the return of Solomon Lane.

You know at some point in this film, Henry is going to peel off the rubber mask and reveal Tom Cruise's face underneath.

Ah yes Peter Graves. Aka Jim Phelps, the ultimate good guy who totally wasn't a psychotic evil traitor who murders his own team. Good times, good times.

I would be excited if I thought this role was gonna be anything substantial. But lets be real, the "director" (after Phelps in the 1st one) of the CIA or IMF is always a throwaway role, whether it's Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Fishburne, Tom Wilkinson or Alec Baldwin. I don't expect any better for Bassett, but would love to be surprised.

I still don't understand why Tom Wilkinson's character's death was so underscored in Ghost Protocol.

It should've been a bigger deal. In fact, his death was due to a miscommunication, so you'd the person who gave the okay would've been punished. But he wasn't.

I like the idea of a female director but admit I kind of wished Baldwin stayed on.

Well, he still could be, since she's the director of the CIA and he became Secretary of the IMF at the end of RN.

That's right. Forgot about that.

Watched RN. It holds up very well.

The boss role does seem interchangeable

Yeah, that is strange but let's be honest here, ALL the roles except Hunt's are interchangeable. I know Luther has been with him from the beginning but even he sat out most of GP. But hopefully with Basset, they've decided to make the IMF director's part one that sticks around for future films. Not getting my hopes up, but I love Angela and I always like to see her pop up in stuff.

I mean Baldwin got a fair amount to do last time.

The "boss" character is pretty much a cameo by a well respected actor. That probably ain't changing.
