Ok, we know of all the directors(both good and bad) who are working on all our beloved superhero/comic-book properties. But what other properties in this genre do you think they would be well suited for if they weren't already obligated elsewhere? Or if they're so far uninvolved with the genre, which do you think would be good fits for certain properties?

To me, if Jon Favreau wasn't directing IM2 and likely the Avengers then I think he'd be ideal for a more 1970's-90's (616)version of Spider-Man or a more Ultimate Spider-Man type film(Raimi's version is pretty 1960's even though he did have Venom in SM3). Fav's sense of humor just strikes me that way.

I'd also say JJ Abrams would be perfect for an FF movie.

Sound off, hype-sters!

Guillermo del Toro directing Ghost Rider since He handled Supernatural and Demons really well in Hellboy.

^That I could see. Good one.

Chris Nolan on a Daredevil movie would work extremely well also.

Yeah, He would do a good job. A while back, Tom Rothman said that the Daredevil reboot needs a visionary director like Christopher Nolan.

Huh, Tom Rothman actually said something that made sense?

But then Rothman would change all of the sets, trim down any violence and then make the movie 90 mins long, so what is the point of getting a visionary director exactly?

That question was directed at Rothman (in other words it was rhetorical), not you RTV.

Exactly, Rothman would still ruin it with his stupid rules like no R rating and the movie should run under 2 hours.

^Under 2 hours, 99% of them have been under 100 mins, ridiculous.

Hell Knocked Up has been longer than the majority of Fox CB movies! So what could a 'visionary' director do with all that ****?

Anyway, let's get back on topic. Here are more that I came up with.

Ang Lee directed Iron Fist (since he has directed a Martial Arts film)
Jon Favreau directed Flash (since he handled light comic book movie style in Iron Man really well)
Sam Raimi directed Superman (because Superman is really similar to Spiderman)
Richard Donner directed Fantastic Four (because his Superman movie was the first comic book that made it big and he should take a shot at another comic book property)

Ang Lee for Iron Fist would be great.

David Fincher for Daredevil

Robert Rodriguez for Deadpool.

Here are two more that I thought of.

Peter Jackson directed X-Men reboot (Imagine 3 hour running time epic fantasy X-Men films like LOTR in the extraordinary vision of Peter Jackson)
Brian De Palma directed Punisher (Imagine how awesome a Punisher movie with epic shootouts like the one at the end of Scarface and epic Crime film style in De Palma's vision)

Chris Nolan=Fantastic Four

John Woo=Punisher or Deadpool

Richard Donner=Captain America

Gregory Widen (Director of the 1st Prophecy Film with Chris Walken)=Ghost Rider

Ang Lee=Elektra (With Eva Mendeaz or Tia Carerra playing Elektra)

A Woo Deadpool film? Would be pretty sick I think. And when it goes into slow motion and those trademark white doves appear, Deadpool could turn round and shoot them and be like "You guys have been waiting for that for years right?" or something to that effect :D

It looks like John Woo is very interested in adaptations because his current film in development is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

Wha...?!!? They are finally making a Rainbow Six movie?!?! I love Rainbow Six!!

A Peter Jackson or David Fincher directed Hulk movie would rock and we'd likely finally get the CGI Hulk who is a total and complete character in and of himself....you know, like it's always been in those silly comics. ;)

John McTiernan directed Wolverine movie with Larry Hama as the screenwriter.

The Punisher by Chan-wook Park, the director of "Old Boy".

Peter Jackson - Green Lantern

Darren Aronofsky - Green Arrow

David Fincher - Wolverine or Spiderman

Also Jon Favreau for the Hulk. Mainly because he's the only big director I can think of who's said that the Hulk comics was his favorite growing up. Kinda like Raimi with Spider-man.
