Moments Where You Wish The Ground At Your Feet Would Just Swallow You Whole

I had to give a long speech in front of an entire college. I was in fifth grade or something. I was hand-picked from a roster of fifty-something students or so. Thankfully, I didn't choke. But I was wishing, "Make it end! Make it end! Kill me now," before giving the speech. This was way worse than a mere stage fright.

Another time was when I was in a movie theatre. I was sitting on the far right corner in the very back row. Unfortunately, I sat right directly next to these two punks. They were loud and incredibly rude. I wanted to move, but there weren't any of the seats left. The punks were swearing and playing with their mobile phones. Eventually, one of the people from the front came up to them and started confronting them. I was sitting between them and they were standing up, arguing directly above me. Fortunately, this occured before the movie started. Just barely, though. And one of the two punks was asked to leave by the manager and everyone started applauding. I was this close to going berserk.

And there was also another time back in elementary school. The drama teacher told me that I had to entertain the entire school in an assembly with tap-dancing before this planned drama play started. There were red curtains and those who were involved in the drama play were getting ready behind the curtains. The thing is, I didn't know how to tap-dance. She picked me because of my talent in dancing and because I came first a few times in talent quests. I told her this, but she insisted. Yeah, so the kids were getting settled and I was in my gears, shaking nervously. The drama teacher then gave me the signal and I started tap-dancing. If you'd call that a tap-dance. I was red-faced and it must've gone for a minute. The plan was to tap-dance for a few seconds as the people behind open the red curtains. But, no, it was a disaster. The ropes for pulling up the curtains broke. I kept dancing in front of hundreds and then, eventually, I stopped to look behind the curtains to realize what the problem was. Finally, the curtains were pulled up and everyone acted like everything was normal. Not me. I went back to sit with the rest of the hundreds, red-faced. I wanted to strangle the drama teacher on the spot. My instinct stopped me.

Voilá. Three of my most embarrassing stories. There are more, but I'm just too lazy to type them all out.
