Moon Knight

I still prefer a two hour film in which they aren't afraid to brace the costume and comicbooky stuff. The action and spectacle don't feel limited. You don't need 13 hours just to see the beginning middle and end of the story. And there's a new villain to look forward in the sequels.

If you make a show, he better get a costume.
I think getting the Mr. Knight suit would work, and the full cape and stuff further down the line, once Marc is more "in control".
If its gonna be as slow paced as The Punisher then eh.
I would hate to get a Moon Knight series that wasn't at least a little bit of a slow build.

There's no reason to think that we can't embrace comic book stuff on TV just because they've avoided it so far. We just need better management. For Moon Knight, his story is so complex and such a big mystery, I just don't think you could do it justice in just two hours.

With the good creative team, they could. I have seen complex twisted films with less than 2 hours of screentime. And there's always a room for the sequel (assuming the first would be a success).

And they probably wont embrace comic booky stuff that much because Marvel TV likes to limit these shows in the department, I don't see it changing here. If they can but they just don't want to, well that's a major concern.

Marvel will not do anything new with Netflix moving forward, so the 13 episode Netflix model does not need to apply. With the purchase of FX, I would love it if future Marvel properties went through Landgraf, essentially neutering Loeb, who lacks vision and overall competency. Too many mistakes have made it to air on his watch.

Loeb is the Head of TV. Anything that goes on FX is going to go through him as well. That includes Legion and the planned Deadpool animated series.

I thought they said the animated Deadpool project was pretty much dead because of the merger?

I've yet to hear that. But why would that be the case? The merger won't even be official for at least another year.

I would love to see Landgraf develop Moon Knight. He'd do something 10x better then the inadequate Jeph Loeb.

Real shame if they didn't take this opportunity to push him to the side.

I've always liked the design. As a Jewish kid, I also like that he's Jewish and son of a rabbi.

Besides that, I like that they play around with the identity issue. To me, he's sort of like a mash-up between Batman and Christopher Chance from Human Target. So it's like with Moon Knight, you have a Batman sort of archetype. But what if Batman was slightly more unhinged?

Like when I think of classic, iconic Batman, I don't think psychopath. Yeah Batman certainly has issues dealing with a childhood trauma, but I always think of Batman as a really well put together straight arrow guys. He's always in control. He always knows what to do. With Moon Knight, it's like you have a Batman-type vigilante, but he's more unpredictable. He's borderline schizophrenic if not completely schizophrenic. You don't know if the whole Khonshu thing is real or if it's just some wild scenario he's fabricated in his head.

IMHO, if there was a TV series, it should always keep you guessing if what's happening is real or if it's all being made up in his head. Like it should mess with your head :) . Like give the audience a bit of a feeling of someone who is suffering from personality or mental disorders :)

Also does Moon Knight really have a massive fandom behind him? I'm not sure I would say he does. I think he definitely has his share of fans and a niche fanbase at least. I would say he's less popular than Daredevil. It's just when I think massive fandom, I think Deadpool. Even before he got a movie, Deadpool's fanbase had grown rather large.

You bring up excellent points. I'm gonna have to check online for some cheap issues. Or maybe the local library.

I should say "massive internet fandom" more or less. A lot of folks I come across on here seem to be pushing for his entry into film.

Though I wonder if he fits into the MCU or the Netflix series. I've never heard of him (though I was just into the standard audience aware of-superheroes).

how big of a budget would a film or series needs? Because the Netflix series are pretty damn good, but clearly they need budget increases.

and would an R rating work in the MCU?

Man, I’m sure I’m trudging up a super dead thread here, but I’m JUST now getting around to watching Hannibal, and the entire time I’m watching Hugh Dancy’s performance, all I can think of is how badly I want him to front a Netflix Moon Knight show.

I think they could do a lot worse than Hugh Dancy. But is he Jewish?

I don’t think you would need a huge budget. There’s a bit in Egypt in the beginning but you could greenscreen that. You could probably do it on a slightly larger than breaking bad budget

Moon Knight is a street level hero. However, I'd want some better production values than what we saw in IRON FIST.

I'd like a better portrayal of a foreign country's warzone than Punisher if we're being ambitious.

It's an amazing performance. He'd be great as Spector.

Yeah iron fist was pretty much rock bottom til inhumans came along.

Really though moon knight should be a character piece about mental health, not necessarily shooting aliens out of the sky

Yeah but I'd still want some good fights and production elements. It shouldn't look cheap.

Yeah, Iron Fist looked cheap as hell. I mean, the fight choreography in Cobra Kai is better than Iron Fist by a country mile, and that's a show about a bunch of teenage kids learning martial arts to fight bullies. Danny is supposed to be THE GREATEST MARTIAL ARTIST IN THE WORLD, and he looks like a guy who would get his ass handed to him in he first round of a low level karate tournament.
