With Kevin Tancharoen still attached to direct from Oren Uziel’s screenplay, we’ve exclusively discovered that the live-action reboot will follow a lowly unlucky supermarket employee who discovers that he has out of this world powers and must decide between good and evil, even though the evil side has helped him discover his true potential and who he really is.

If true, then they are just hell bent on never doing this franchise any justice. We're gonna get the Wal-Mart door greeter with the fate of the world in his hands. It's to the point where I'm just gonna stop paying attention to movie developments for this film from now on. All that great mythology and the best they can come up with is a freakin' grocery clerk. I dunno how most of these hollywood screenwriters land jobs. It's a joke what they'll pay money for.

I wasn't blown away either, but at least Raiden wasn't an electrician and Sub-Zero wasn't a ice-cream salesman. They tried to stay faithful to the source material.
