BvS MOS 2 and Justice League being filmed simultaneously?

Right. I'm not saying they should do it, but it's there as an option, if they're strapped for cash and time and want to put this Justice League together effortlessly. It wouldn't really cause any headaches.

2 television shows and 3 films is a damn good establishment leading into Justice League.

The X-Men movies have had the same story/continuity for 14 years now. Green Lantern came out 2 years ago lol. I'm not saying Ryan Reynolds is the be-all-end-all, nor am I saying it was a fantastic movie (I didn't love it, but I didn't despise it either - I liked it). But HALF of the X-Men movies are crap and are worse than Green Lantern, and they're still trucking.

I'm not going on record and endorsing the idea. Just saying...

I get what you're saying, but I think being associated with GL would do this movie more harm than good.

And I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not too hung up on every character included in JL being introduced in a solo effort of some kind. I wanted more solo supes because he's my favorite character (and wouldn't mind some solo Bat and WW too), but I don't need it for all characters. They don't need solo movies to work in JL. There are many movies that introduce multiple characters and it works out. It's all about the writing. It's not that I dislike all the other characters, but I'm not clamoring for solo movies for them pre-JL. So, if GL is introduced in JL, I'm fine with it.

Green Lantern is toxic. If I were WB I'd Star Wars Holiday Special that film and destroy all copies they could get their hands on. it was that bad.

It was that bad. GL is best ignored. Having it as part of this universe in any way would just make the GL character harder to sell.

Look, I didn't love that movie. But it's a comic book movie. It did its job. It put a smile on plenty of kids' faces (this I've seen firsthand). In the world outside of the Internet (yes, you know, the real world out there where there isn't a RottenTomatoes or an IMDB or a SuperHeroHype), there's a general audience who thought it was a-okay. Not a masterpiece, but a decent movie. Movies are allowed to be "good". They don't have to be The Dark Knight or The Avengers. Something can have a B- or C+ rating every now and then.

There's this obsession with everything NEEDING to be either "The Best Movie Ever Made" or "The Worst Movie Ever Made", and there's no in-between. I think that's sad. I think the Internet killed that movie before it ever had a chance.

To me (in my opinion), it's better than Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Ghost Rider 2, Elektra, X-Men 3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Batman & Robin, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3.

I'd put it on par with Thor and Captain America, and Thor 2. Not great, not mind-blowing, not setting the world on fire, but NOT the worst superhero movie ever made, either.

Agreed. They did that with The Incredible Hulk and it worked fine.

Not sure why they did it with Spider-Man, lol. "High school nerd gets bitten by a radioactive spider, has spider powers." Boom, make Spider-Man 4. But no, you have to have this intricate conspiracy/mystery about his father (who's already dead so who cares?) and how Peter becoming Spider-Man was destiny and blah blah blah. Like, just give me Spider-Man fighting Vulture and Scorpion, for christ's sakes.

I saw GL by chance because my Dad wanted to see a movie and it was all that was playing in my small town. I hadn't followed the movie during production, I hadn't read any articles or even a synopsis about it. I hadn't read any reviews or talked about it online (I only joined the hype this year). GL isn't one of favorite characters, so I wasn't that invested in his portrayal. I was pretty damn close to a "general audience" member at that time. I went into the movie with zero expectations and I still found it horrible. It's just poorly written and terrible, IMO. I disliked it as a movie fan, not necessarily a CBM fan. But that's just my opinion. And it's fine if others felt differently. All I'm saying is that I did not like it and don't want it continued in any way. I mean no offense to anyone who liked it.

The GL movie was largely rejected by audiences, so regardless if they keep the continuity of events, they shouldn't feel the need to retain any elements of GL 2011 (casting, visual direction, etc) just for continuity sake to please a dozen or so fans of GL2011.

I haven't seen Ghost Rider 2 or Jonah Hex so I can't comment on those, but I'd say Green Lantern was far worse than any of those films. It's script was paper thin, it's story went nowhere, it's action was uninspired and boring, the CGI was horrible, Reynolds was just phoning it in.

They had this incredible property where they could have made something truly unique and fun. Green Lantern is basically a space cop. With that in mind they could have made a cop/space opera genre mix that had never been done before. Instead they chose to make a generic superhero movie and tried to ripoff of Iron Man at the same time.

The film's only redeeming feature is the stuff that actually featured the Green Lantern core. Kilowog, Tomar Re, Sinestro. That was done well. That's what we paid to see. But instead we got 10 minutes of that and 110 minutes of generic superhero cliches.

Only way around it would be saying GL happened after MoS despite being released before, which wouldn't make sense either.

Wow. Which may mean Darkseid will be introduced in the JL film if they shoot back to back (which would be the case according to Alter) in 2017. Thanos is a Darkseid ripoff anyhow!

Avengers 3 won't be seeing the light of day until 2018 most likely or maybe late 2017? I would love to see Harry Lennix's General Swanswick wind up being MM.

Only reason why you wouldn't start fresh is if you really wanted Ryan Reynolds to be GL. But there are other actors out there that are fit to be Hal Jordan. It's a shame that he got the short end of the stick with that movie, but it's time to move on. Hopefully if we do get a GL franchise in the future, it's by people with much grander visions. There is just so much potential. It's too bad Abrams is tied up with Star Wars.

Maybe they can convince James Cameron to do it.
