Infinity War Most important players/ characters in Infinity War

Yeah, I don't see that if there's a final last man standing confrontation between Thanos and one of the heroes that it's going to be Drax. Audiences wouldn't go for that because they'd want to see one of the main actors taking that role, whether it's Cap or Iron Man or Starlord.

Getting Drax to do the deed would be like having a character like Tara saving the day/ dealing the final blow in Buffy instead of Miss Summers herself.

I don't really want it to be just one guy left at the end against Thanos. Would rather see some huge combo move even if Thanos has already taken 60% of them out.

I don't want to see Thanos die.

If they do have death in it though. She could bring him back mid credits.

Thanos, Loki (taking Mephisto's role), and Nebula basing off of Infinity Gauntlet.

Hopefully GotG 2 introduces Adam Warlock.

Hopefully we have Warlock introduced in GotG2. Teams should be Avengers dealing with one connected threat, Guardians another, Warlock and Dr. Strange doing their own things, then it all culminates in pt. 2, which the majority should be structured like the Infinity Gauntlet book where the majority of the film could be the drawn out direct conflict with Thanos.

There will be too many characters until Anvegers IW. Avengers'original team, plus War Machine, Scarlet, Quicksilver, Black Panther, Strange, Capt Marvel, Ant-Man, the guardians of galaxy, the Inhumans ... It will be necesary to make a choice. too many heroes against Thanos. Fortunately we will have 2 parts.

However we have different team:
-Avengers
Iron Man
Cap
Thor
Hulk
Hawkeye
black Widow
Rhody
the twins
Vision

-Guardians of the Galaxy
Starlord
Gamora
Drax
Rocket and probably new Groot

-Solo heroes:
Black Panther
Ant Man
Falcon
Dr Strange
Capt Marvel

The most potentials characters for fighting against Thanos are Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, Vision, Dr Strange, Captain Marvel, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

I definitely think drax will play a somewhat large role, although movie drax doesn't seem to have been created for the sole purpose of destroying Thanos like his comic counterpart was (That doesn't mean he doesn't want to kill Thanos any less badly though). And I don't think draw is gonna be the guy to take him down either, in fact I think it may go the other way if one of the two must die

He'll play a role, sure. But not a large one. Not his movie.

Plus I doubt Gunn would be ok with one of the Guardians being killed outside of the Guardians-movies.

Yea I can't imagine Gunn letting them kill off his baby. But I wonder if a lot of characters are going to die and then have the deaths be reversed once the gauntlet is recovered. (I'm iffy on that though because it might just undermine some of the powerful moments we could get in that film)

If characters are dying in the final assault on Thanos and the survivors ultimately retrieve the gauntlet, their sacrifices are still heroic. Cap running interference on Thanos seems exactly like the thing he would do. The gauntlet can destroy the universe and restore it. A mass resurrection and restoration wouldn't undermine anything, in fact it is quite likely considering that's how the story goes and I don't see the MCU straying too far from the comic lore on that point.

It depends on how it's written for me, I thought the reversal of death was done very well in DOFP. I could see the story playing out similar to the original story and then maybe the ending could be similar to the ending of The Thanos Imperative, maybe replacing nova and quill with cap and iron man.

It also lets you explore the effects in future films/tv shows. How did dying then being brought back effect the characters? If Daredevil died and was brought back did it effect his religion? Has battling someone with the power of a god shattered his beliefs or made them stronger? Does he think twice when fighting bad guys? The effects of fighting Thanos could ripple on cementing it's importance. Just as the battle of New York changed things as the general population were aware that earth is not alone so could this.

Absolutely. The ripple effects should impact their lives and potentially change their whole view on things. Tony having PTSD from the aftermath of Avengers makes sense until he snapped out of it from a conversation with a kid. Tony's PTSD should have lasted longer and so should the impact from Thanos.

And if they do the whole half earth's population wipeout for Thanos' first attack on earth, Agents of Shield (given its still around by then) and any other shows that are running could play up on that aspect as well. (Coulson's second death maybe?)

It still staggers me that we are discussing the effects on films/tv shows of a film that won't happen for almost 5 years.

The world of cinema and tv have changed.

It's crazy! The MCU is a living, breathing universe

For the better, I'd like to think.

Definitely. They just need to keep the quality levels high.

So glad that they are thinking so far forward. It will hopefully bring to an end (or at least limit) the making a sequel just to ride the popularity of the first. All the big studios now are planning in advance of how sequels will fit into their universes and planning for them ahead of time. Sometimes it might not work as well (ASM2) but at least they are leaving storylines open.

These last couple of films, TWS and GotG, need to be the new minimum benchmark for quality.
