What I wouldn't give to watch the chest-burster scene in Alien when it first came out and no one knew what to expect. What are your favorite scenes that are 1000x awesomer when experienced with a dark room full of strangers?

The very end of Inception , I loved the reaction .

Superbad , Old School , Wedding Singer , I like going to a movie where everyone in the crowd is laughing and it's even better with friends.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith , people just seemed in awe the whole time and the look on peoples faces was funny when Anakin turns

Alice in Wonderland in 3-d , there was so many people dressed up and others were high , it created a unique atmosphere .

The opening shot of the city in TDK on Imax. Just about everytime I saw it on Imax it got the same reaction from the crowd. You can tell that first day shot of the city filling up the entire Imax screen after watching the opening logos, which were a lot smaller in frame and dark, blew people away. I was even thinking "holy ****" and I knew to expect it.

Good choice. Have to say the ending of Inception got a bigger reaction than any movie I've ever attended. Never heard that kind of audible reaction at the end of a movie before. Gasps followed by a mixture of laughing, clapping, and chatter.

The moment when "M. Night Shymalalala" name popped up on the devil trailer :hehe:

The Pencil Scene in TDK for sure. I actually really enjoyed Kick-Ass with an audience. I think most comedies work well in this case because alot of people are expressing their emotion(laughter) from the movie together. We could all be experiencing a "OMG this is Amazing" emotion while watching Inception, but most people aren't going to yell that together.

Any after credit scene actually... theres like only 10 people left in the theater waiting for something to pop up...

People will hate me for this, but Paranormal Activity was very much a group experience for me. I don't think I would've enjoyed it as much had it not been for the reactions of the audience.

Also, I would've love to have been in the theater with the first audience to see Empire Strikes Back. I'd want to see people's reaction to Darth Vader's reveal.

The Pencil Scene in TDK for sure.

Pencil trick reaction was incredible when I first saw the movie. Wasn't an opening night showing either but opening Saturday. Also saw the movie during its second weekend and the reaction was the same. "Ohhhhh" and a lot of laughter. :awesome:

Xmen 2...opening day reactions were the best I had ever experienced. Wolverine's fight in the kitchen with bobby looking on. Colossus transformation and throwing the soldiers through the wall. Magneto escaping the plastic prison.
But the biggest reaction of them all was Nightcrawler teleporting to save rogue. Thats just a few moments. All of the comedic beats were extremely well placed in the entire movie. Wolverine saying he was the art teacher.
I've been to a lot of movies that got good reactions but none of them have kept up the pace that X2 had. The only other one that comes close might be Iron Man.

The Rocky movies, everyone in the theater cheered for Rocky in the fight sequences, that never happened before in any movie before or really after.

The Joker scenes in The Dark Knight. Honestly, the reactions from the crowd reminds me how I love the movie-going experience.

Predators. Honestly, great experience. The whole theater clapped and cheered at all the right moments.

:stark:"Starting with 10% thrust capacity in 3...2...1...BAM!" :lmao:

This really is an example of youth. I don't think anything will ever top that moment in 1980 for audiences watching The Empire Strikes Back for the very first time. Unfortunately, everybody born since 1980 is genetically imprinted with the knowledge of the twist, so it's a little lost on them, but it's still the best audience moment in cinema history. Whatever palpable tension there was for Revenge of the Sith is only there because of nostalgia, not quality.

Watching the first 4 James Bond movies. Bond mania in 1964 was insane and sadly will never happen again.

The Dark Knight wins hands down in my opinion. Every scene got the desired reaction and the aftermath of the chase got the biggest reaction. I'm sure everyone knows which parts of the chase I am talking about too.

The Saw movies come pretty close too. Mainly due to the uncomfortable nature of the traps and the pain involved. I remember watching Saw 2 with a sold out crowd and when Amanda is thrown into the pit of needles, I have never heard so many 'HOLY ****!" or people reacting to the pit.

I remember those moments quite well. It was a packed threater when I saw X2 and they loved every minute of the movie.

I think a lot of Drag Me To Hell made an incredible movie experience..

Attack Of The Clones

Yoda pulling out his Lightsaber for the first time to fight Count Dooku. My crowd loved that & laughed & cheered

Another moment is with The Forgotten & one of the cops shoots the alien guys & is not hurt & then she is telling Julianne Moore that she now believes her about the kids & then out of no where very randomly there is this loud ass sound & the cop flies into the sky & the audience reaction to that was great

There were some brilliant audience moments in The Orphan...which I thought it was a very entertaining horror/thriller.

The after-credit scenes on both "Iron Man" movies. I was at the midnight showing for both of them. The theater remained full both times and there was a huge cheer from the audience after each one.

Any Slasher film with a Mainly Black Audience is guaranteed a good time. I saw Red Eye up at Temple University so fun.

Not being Racist here.

In the Loop - the exchange between Malcolm Tucker and General Miller at the bar.
