It's irrational and closed minded. I mean, you can get comics for free online at this point, so it wouldnt even cost any money to explore this other universe. I really just dont get it.

you know what i have watched the trailer 15 times since yesterday.

I have a feeling that this movie will be rated pg-13 NOT R-rated.

There was not a single shot in the movie that screamed R-rated.

Ya guys this will be AVP.

But it will have much better actions sequences and SFX.

Will you still support GR if it is pg-13?

I mean common the movie has a budget of $100-130 million, there is no way COLUMBIA will release it as a R-rated movie. It simply won't do well at boxoffice.

who cares i will still watch it and probably end up buying on DVD.

Pg-13 today would have gotten an R rating a few years ago.

He doesnt just put on glasses. It's like Superman: Birthright said...Martha Kent gave him a whole speech about how her and Jonathan saw a play about twins, and it turned out that the twins were played by the same actor and no one in the audience could tell because they acted so different. He puts on glasses, changes his hair, slouches, and acts totally different. Just look at the pictures of Superman and Clark Kent from the new movie side by side. If you didn't know they were the same person, it would be difficult to tell, especially if you knew one guy was Superman and the other was a bumbling reporter who couldnt go 10 minutes without knocking something down.

And the universe loyalty argument doesnt hold up with me either. All the marvel movies are in a different universe from each other and not connected at all to one another. So how is that different than enjoying a Batman or Superman movie? It's severly limiting yourself for no good reason. I can see why people dont like specific character (I for one hate Green Lantern and Aquaman) but cutting yourself off from a whole different set of characters just because it's not related to some stuff you already read just seems incredibly stupid to me, no offense.

Honestly, I really don't have to justify my reasons for liking something or try and hold water with you. I'm just telling it like it is for me. I prefere the Marvel Universe and find no interest in learning about another universe (that has a far less concentration on continuity) when there is still so much to learn about the Marvel one.

Having said that, I'm a huge movie fan and tend to like any movies which are good. In fact, there are few movies that I don't like or couldn't find something in it that I didn't like. Batman, I loved. Constantine; very good. The original Supes movies also very classic films. So, you see, I like these movies and some of the characters. I just wouldn't go out of my way to support them. I wouldn't watch their movies 2 or 3 times opening day/weekend. I wouldn't buy their DvD's on released day.

Liking something and supporting something is two totally different things.

As for Supes, changing his behaviour isn't enough for me, especially when you consider the amount of times somebody says "Where'd Clark go?" just to see Supes fly by a second later.

Either way, to each thier own. Many love Supes. I'm just not of of those people.

DC actually has a much bigger focus on continuity than marvel has, especially lately with Infinite Crisis and all. Marvel refuses to even admit half of the 90's even took place.

What has that got to do with anything.

I like Marvel

I don't like DC

These are personal opinions which I don't have to give a reason for, it is just the way I feel. For all I care Marvel could disown the last whatever amount of years they've been going for and start totally from scratch and I would still like them and not like DC

I don't think I'll ever believe that DC has a bigger focus on continuity. I mean, Supes was only able to jump high at first but now is able to fly to space and hover around a bit.

Anyway, the battle between Marvel fans and DC ones has been going on forever. To each their own.

Not to mention ins some cases Supes can breath in outerspace but in the awful justice league cartoons he seemed to need a space suit.

He can either breath in space or he can't. I know I don't like the dumb character but they could at least stick to one thing.

Since the Crisis, he can't breathe in space. At best he can hold his breathe for a long time.

Well in the Spider-man cartoon, Punisher used goo and lasers instead of bullets...and Morbiuus sucked "plasma" through his hands instead of blood through his mouth...and Blade used a frickin ligh sabre for some reason...oh and in the Spider-man movie he has organic webs instead of web shooters...see where I'm going with this?

I'll never understand brand loyalty. If something is good then read it or watch it. If it's bad, dump it. This is why a lot of independent comics and comic book companies never get off the ground. I was suprised V for Vendetta even got a movie. Or movies like Ghost World for that matter.

Brand loyalty is not supposed to be understood. It is just something that happens.

I can't explain my reasons to you cuz I don't have a real reason for why i think this way...I just think this way.

I'm not exactly sure where you're going with that...

Punisher uses all kinds of weapons, not just bullets. Always has, always will. Same with Blade. Well, not bullets but, he uses all kinds of weopons.

Morbius sucked plasma through his hands? What? I'm not sure what you're talking about...

A change from comic to movie (with regards to Spidey) is much different than changing a character completly within the same medium; for example, jumping high to flying higher.

Either way, I see no point in spending my hard earned money on something I'm not interested in when I have so many other things that I am interested in that I want to purchase.

I hope it's an R, but sadly it will probably be PG-13. I hardly know anything about the comic or character, but to me, it looks like it should be an R flick.

Hard PG-13 it seems. which is fine. like I explained in another thread:

An R-Rated GR would be great. But much like an R-Rated Batman isn't needed or neccessary. GR has never been anything over than a harsh PG-13.

Punisher=R
Ghost Rider=Pushed to the limit PG-13

I don't get the obsession with wanting it to be R. It seems people who hardly know the comics or character think this just because of his appearance or vibe I guess?? Batman Begins was PG-13 and was still pretty damn dark and violent.

Really? So, the GR comics were just hard PG-13? Didn't know. Guess I'll see the movie in theaters now. ( I was going to just wait for the DIRECTOR'S CUT/R-rated/Unrated DVD to come out)

I don't get your logic. You come in here openly admitting you hardly know anything about Ghost Rider yet you are wanting an R rating. Why???

fake ra's at that moment always reminded me of Master Tulsa from TMNT the movie:confused:

Ghost Rider is one of those Marvel films that really needs to be seen on the big screen w/ proper sound. the setups for home come pretty close but unless you have your own professional sound/video equipment you just wont get the same effect.
i can understand waiting to see comedies, dramas only on dvd...but GR? thats sacrilege around these here parts:mad:

For some reason people think flaming skull= R rating I guess...lol.

It is, BIGGUN? :o so, turning up the volume on the TV all the way doesn't get the same effect as theater with DTS? j/k.
