A swarm of bats shreiking in the dusk skyline.
FADES

An abandaned factory, home for rats and booze bottles the occasional bum that makes temporary residence leaves here. Streams of white light from the street slash through the windows along a corridor. A man skips past the windows. A hideous, snig.gering voice emerges.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
Follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
Scarecrow needs a brain.

The man with the massive snarling grin and pale complection swings the door open. The Joker. He enters a room with crates a wind blows a clear plastic curtain left by workers that had jobs in Gotham's glory days. Joker sneaks through the maze of crates.

"Scareycrow, you need a brain.
My bullet wants to be introduced."

He giggles. A figure creeps upe behind him, grabs him. A struggle for jokers gun. A puff of gas. The scarecrow in all his terrifying glory leans over at the gas ridden joker. Wide eyed the joker, he snig.gers, he giggles, he cackles, he laughs manically. Scarecrow steps back confused.

"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Scareycrow."

Joker knocks Scarecrow out. He dances around the only other freak in town.

"I know a mob family who will pay me a lovely ransom for you."

He stops dancing suddenly. Her hears a flap, like a pair of bat's wings. Joker smiling picks up his gun.

"You know scareycrow I love to laugh, but this bat, he's starting to annoy me."

Batman swings through the open industry window.

"Your not getting away this time Joker."

Joker snig.gers, he raises his gun. Batman throws a bat disc, it tears through Joker's gun weild arm. Joker shrieks, he drops his gun. As quick as lightening Batman flattens Joker, landing onto scarecrow unconcious.
Batman opens up a nifty communications device.

"Gordon?"

Joker immediatly opens his eyes and smiles, he was feigning unconciousness.

"I have Joker and Crane, at the old Menzies warehouse."

"Hey bats?"

Bat turns around to get a puff of Scarecrow's gas into his face. Batman flails his arms around, pushing away the imaginary bats. Joker laughing runs away. Batman eventually gives himself a dose of the antidote. Joker is gone, but finally Batman has the Scarecrow.
The police sirens start to echo.

Fade.

That would be a cool opening scene. lol Well at least I think so :) . What you guys think?

Don't like the dialoges so much.

Yeah your probably right. I don't know the character of the Joker extremely well. Yeah I was worried about the dialogue. Oh well I was bored. :)

Nice try, but yeah the dialogue is really weak....

Umm. That sucked. Really. Bad.

The dialogue and the point = teh stoopid.

okay maybe I shouldn't become a screenwriter just yet lol :O

MY start to batman 2:

him perched on some high skyscraper ledge in the rain, spying on some goons doing bad business in another building, a la mask of the phantasm. a quiet opener, in the suit. just the sound of the rain. a long zoom shot. kick ASS.

I dont like the idea of a direct confrontation between Batman and Joker in the opening scene. Give Batman some time to try to find out just who the Joker is, and build up to their first meeting.

note to self. Never share a thought or idea in this forum EVER!! lol :(

Weak dialogue and kind of stupid. Why do Batman and Gordon have a communication device?

But get this GarzaUK, you put Batman 2 as the title to your idea. It's now being thrown as a name for the sequel possibly....

Look I was bored and I whipped it up in 10 mins, were you expecting a work of art? :) I won't subject you guys to my ideas again then. :)

If you whipped it up in ten minutes, then how is it your "ideal" start?

how about my opener, dammit?

It should be different than anything we've seen before. I don't even want an action sort of opening that introduces a villain or whatever, because they did that in every movie before BB. And no cliche opening sequence with names and titles flying across the screen. That's when I knew BB was better; from the beginning it didn't follow a real formula. The beginning should be something that introduces one of Batman's inner-conflicts and develops a substantial character-driven plot, not a beat-up thugs and villains intro.

The lack of opening credits on Batman Begins is just another thing that makes it awesome. I hate opening credits, especially when they're very long and very boring. Just open with bats forming the signal, or perhaps the number 2, then jump into the movie.

that's what I was suggesting- him being a quiet detective in the opener, in the rain, followed by more buildup. save any action for about 20 minutes, then pour it out.

i like the idea of the bats opener, same as the first, only with "rise of the joker" in white over the bat signal. assuming, they go with that subtitle :)
