My iPod Nano Died....

I agree with all points, but even though everytime it dropped may not have been due to my carelessness, bottom line is I was careless with it at times and now i'm suffering the consequences.

I called Apple, and it's going to cost me $32.46 shipping to have them take a look/fix/send it back to me.

On the hand, a $32.46 investment might save my $250 nano, but on the other, Apple could say they can't fix it, and there goes my $32.46+$250...

Should I do it?

Naw dude, just put the $30 towards a new iPod. Unless like, they guaranteed that they'll fix it. Then of course, send it.

I don't know if they'll gaurantee to fix it... that's the problem .

And I was just considering getting another nano or mp3 player.

Actually, Apple is pretty good about their repairs. I'd send it to them, personally.

Should I make them re-personalize my "new" ipod, delaying the shipping by a few days / a week...

or

Just get back a factory black ipod nano with no engraving.

I've dropped my nano hundreds of times...and Ive only had it a couple months. I often toss it against the wall just to see if it will bounce back. It doesnt...just kinda slides down the side and hits the tile.

Not so much as a scratch on it.

Apple take the piss when my 2 year old ipod died they wanted £140 for a new 20 GB hard drive. I thought feck it and bought a new 30 GB model for not much more.

Don't you have an apple store near to take it into bud.

That's a good idea, go directly to an apple store, save on shipping .

But those samsung MP3 players are lookin wicked cool, and they cost less than apple's mp3 players.

There are a variety of cases/covers that can help protect the iPod (including Nano) from a fall. I use the Toughskin for my iPod Video.

Nothing is foolproof, but it can help. There is a product called Otterbox (google it) that claims it can help withstand pretty bad impacts.
