Im going to try and right a script for this superhero movie I've been working on. But I was wondering what do you guys think makes a superhero movie great instead of good, and also something I have been pondering is should I have one villian or more than one?
Thanks
Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated

There is a fan fiction section of the community board, you might get some better ideas there but I will give you my opinion. First having a superhero with great super powers is cool but they need to have weakness and have their weaknesses exploited. As with the villians it is also, in my opinion, good to have the villians willing to go the extra step to be evil and have the hero pushed to his limits. Kinda like Spiderman 2, when he tried to stop the train it took everything he had and then the villian came in when he was at his weakest to take advantage of that. The Superhero really needs to have a human side that the reader or viewer can connect with.

Dude. You have a long way to go if you are asking these simple questions now. Scripting is extremely hard.

Do you know how to write in the three act structure? Are you aware of the mechanics of such things as plot point 1, plot point 2, inciting incident, key incident, midpoint, pinch 1 and pinch 2? If not, read up.

^^^ are you kidding me? ive seen hollywood that dont even use those elements.

The only films that don't use those elements are non-linear ones, such as Pulp Fiction or Sin City. Anything else does. Spider-Man does. So does its sequel. The X-Men movies have them, and so do the Batman films. Most good films have distinct and organic structure.

I think realizing that the word "write" isn't spelled "right" would be a good starting point

LMAO That was the first thing I said to myself when I read his post :D

I've been using 'Screenplay: Writing the Picture' by Russin and Downs. I'm also taking a screenwriting course in the fall.
