Mystique losing her powers = symbolic rape victim?

I was thinking about that scene where Mystique blocked Magneto getting shot with the "cure" dart during the squad car scene, and how it "humanized" her and they left here there naked and vulnerable, as if she were "contaminated", and the look on her face before, during and after it happened. The expressions of pain, shame, humiliation, disgrace, violation, loss. It almost seems like Mystique's loss of her powers makes her something of a symbolic rape victim, a virgin who lost her innocence against her will.

What do you all think?

It was a melodramatic performance that i got a good laugh from, but I see where your getting at on the rape angle.

She's like an inmate on his first night in jail who's non-innocence is further heightened by some gorrila sized cell-mate late after dark.

Don't get me wrong i did feel very sorry for her in fact i thought it was just as emotional as when proff. x died but i think if the cure isn't permanent and her and Magneto are in an X4 they will forgive eachother

This is exactly why the cure must be permanent. If it's not and they just decide to kiss and make-up, it would totally negate the emotional weight of this whole damned movie. The scene with Magneto and Mystique was heart-breaking and great, and to undo it immediately would be completely stupid.

I don't think it would be stupid if the cure was only temporary. If Raven turns back into Mystique, she might get revenge on Magneto for abandoning her like that. I think it would be an interesting conflict between the two.

I think i would like Mystique leading her own team i think she's a much stronger woman than the harley quinn the potray her to be.

I don't really know much about Mystique's character. But I'm sure if she gets her powers back, she'll want to get Magneto's ass. That's at least how it was when Magneto abandoned her in the Evolution cartoon. =/
